We spent 14 night in early Sep and have booked for 2014 already,Rose the owner and Dave the barman are brilliant and a good laugh too, nothing is too much trouble, the room was spacious and cleaned daily with a large balcony, ideal location near all amenities and the beach, couldn't wish for any more out of a place to stay.

Roll on next Sept.

On arrival Rose could not find our booking and said we were not booked in to stay, but she gave us a room that we had booked that was a "suit", the room was large and very clean, but I am lost to see how one room is a suit with no fridge kettle or anything extra other than one more bed and a settee, looking beyond this the hotel is set back off the main road to the beach and at night time there is hardly any sound from the surrounding restaurants and bars so quality of sleep is brilliant,
the pool is very clean and sunbeds are available, as we were in the last couple of weeks of the season beds are available at all times, I am not so sure it would not be packed in summer with the limited space, breakfast was a little bland hardly any choice to be honest but you can walk out and get any breakfast you want for a couple of pounds at all the restaurants
to sum up the hotel I would say it is very good, the barman Dave was a nice friendly chap on hand and willing to help you, it is very clean the room "suit" is large and bright and room 301 is on the corner so you have a nice breeze through the windows on each corner, service is good and even though the breakfast is a bit bland for the cost to eat out it really is not a problem,
I would stay here again due to its location as you really could not get closer to the resort centre but just back enough to be very quiet.

Room Tip: room 301 as it has large windows on each corner for the air to pass through

We stayed at this hotel from the 16th September to 30th September. It is situated in a great position with easy access to bars and restaurants and a 5 minute walk to the beach.
The room was clean and had a lovely balcony, it is true the attic rooms have a sloping ceiling so if you are tall you may want to ask for a different room. Our room had a double bed and a single bed and a fair sized bathroom with shower and toilet, the sheets and towels were changed every day or couple of days depending on how busy the maid was which was fine.
There is a lovely pool which is very private and cannot be seen from the street unlike some pools we saw, the bar was a nice size and well run by Dave who was always on hand to help with any enquiries you have and could organise any trips you maybe interested in at a fair price.
The food was delicious and was either cooked by Rose or Dave depending who was around, a lovely Turkish breakfast with cereal, bread, cheese and jams and honey, tea and coffee, it is better to order the fried breakfast or anything else you want like that at the hotel as if you go out for it you will find that you pay 5 Lira each just for a cup of tea or coffee so that builds the price up, remember you get free tea or coffee if you are staying bed and breakfast.
The staff work very hard and it is a long season, remember how much you paid, there maybe hiccups but for the price you cannot have any complaints.
Icmeler is a nice area within easy reach of Marmaris, the walks along the beachfront are flat and lead into Marmaris if you are up for a long walk.
Make sure you are careful about which beach you go on as it can be like sardines on some of them, on your first day have a walk along the front to pick an area that looks good for you.
You can take boat trips from the beach to Marmaris although if you like a peaceful beach i would catch one to Turunc which is a lovely little place about 25 minute boat ride and will cost you 15 Lira return each, find out which day their market is on as it is an experience to walk around, not good if you suffer from panic attacks though. The market in Icmeler is on a wednesday, my advice is to get there early, about 9.30 a.m so you miss the main crunch.
Most of the restaurants in Icmeler offer a good deal for meals, have a good walk around or ask people in your hotel for advice on ones worth visiting, we really enjoyed the Broadway, The Winehouse and the Deniz Kapisi Steakhouse which has a terrace and overlooks the beach, do a great steak and great service.
All you have to remember is how to get back to your hotel as there are many streets which can look the same, to get back to the Oylum Gardens we at first used the canal as a guide to get to our road.
You will be bothered by front door men trying to get you into their restaurant or bar, they are just doing a job so be polite, just say you have eaten or you are booked elsewhere, no need for rudeness.
When changing up money do it in Turkey as you will get a better exchange rate, look around as sometimes the exchange shops are actually better than the supermarkets.
Just take things as they come and do not expect perfection and you will have an enjoyable holiday in Icmeler, just laugh at the hiccups that arise and think of them as an experience rather than a hindrance, nothing is ever perfect.
Thanks to all the lovely people i met in the Oylum Gardens and i will definitely be back, did not want to leave.

Room Tip: You will get some noise whichever room you have, just take some earplugs if you are a light sleeper...

We spent 11 nights here at the beginning of September & although everything wasn't perfect, we really enjoyed our stay. We were put into room 104, which was basically in the basement. The upside to this was that the room was coolish, meaning that we didn't need to pay the extra £5 per day for air con. The downside was that there was no view & we couldn't leave the window open, as anyone could have climbed in. But as we only used the room for showering & sleeping, it wasn't that big a deal. Also, the only time we got hot water was in the afternoon. But what the heck.
Rosa, who runs the hotel will go out of her way to accommodate you. If you are put in the basement & aren't happy with it, she will find you another room if you ask. Dave (Dogan) the barman was a nice guy, who's worked there for the past 4 summers & is also willing to help in any way he can.
To summarise, you get what you pay for. We paid about £25 per night for a double & it was a bit like 'Faulty Towers' but in a nice way. I recommend it.

My husband & I stayed here for a week in September. We arrived at 4.30am to be told there wasn't a room for us even though we booked from the 5th but arrived early hours of the 6th I was furious. We were put in the hotel next door which was the most disgusting place I've ever stayed. I went back to see Rose at 9am & was told we would have a room by 9.30. I must admit the room was lovely very large clean & bright. We still had to pay for air conditioning & safety deposit box even though I asked for a reduction we also didn't get to keep the room on because our flight was at 2am. There were too many people having the same experience of overbooking as us for me to go back to this hotel even though its a lovely place with a great barman who couldn't do enough for you.

There were 4 of us on this trip, my friend, her daughter and her daughters friend, we had 2 basement rooms, ours was massive with 2 double beds and one single. The bathroom smelt damp a lot ofthe time, but it was ok. Rose the manager was very pleasent but a couple of days before we came home she asked the girls if they would mind moving into our big room for the final night as she had overbooked. The girls didnt like to say no, but we went along with it because we had such a big room. When i went to see Rose about it, she didnt attempt to offer us any money back for this so i asked her if we could keep our room or any room to get showered the next evening as we were not leaving until 11-15pm, she said as long as we were out for 4pm she would allow it but no later. We managed to find alternative accomidation for the evening as we wanted to stay on the beach later, but we felt she was unfair when she asked us to pay her for the airconditioning, so i told her we would not pay it, because we had given up one room that we had paid for, she was not happy about this and when we were leaving she made Dave the barman ask us for some money for the airconditioning. We gave him an extra £10 but no more. This did put us off going back to this hotel next year although Dave the barman is the best barman in Icmilar. Look for the 4 winged pigeons.

Room Tip: Basement rooms are smelly and top floor rooms are tiny you need to duck your head
