“Amazing and relaxing!!!”
Reviewed August 10, 2010

Having read some of the reviews on here, I was a little worried about my stay but I can confirm that it is a fabulous hotel with wonderful staff! they cannot do enough for you, When we were there the F1 grand prix was on of which I'm a big fan! After a late night the night before i was running the risk of missing it, Muzzy was nice enough to give me a gentle reminder and had it on in the pool bar when I arrived! The little touches are what make a great holiday! The entire gang including Stella, Ozzy and the rest of the lads make it a great place to stay if your looking to relax and have a little fun by the pool this is the hotel for you!

The rooms are nice and clean, with fresh towels and maid service daily. We had the rome suite overlooking the pool 4201 i think!

P.S no kids makes this hotel an adults dream if u want to escape the screaming and running aroung the pool! Although "big" kids are encouraged to have a great time. We met some fab new friends and would definately stay there again! The turkish bath on site is a must and very reasonable!

I hope you consider this hotel because it really does cater to your needs!

Stayed in Icemeler for the first time this year. 2 weeks of lovely sunshine. The Mersoy bellaista Suites were great. lovely and clean, large rooms. We paid a little extra for pool view, and got it. Well worth it. Staff all friendly. I would of liked a slightly shallow ended pool area, as only 5ft tall, and cant jump in the pool, hey ho it was spotless so no big deal. Food good quality and reasonably priced. Everybody in the rsort were friendly. Theres restaurants galore, all serving lovely food, but if you want a quiet meal try the lighthouse restaurant, I highly recommend it. Def return back to this resort.

This hotel was one of the nicest we have ever stayed in. The location was fantastic and the staff could not do enough to help you. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the air conditioning was a godsend when the temperatures reached the high 40's.
The breakfast was not the best however it was Ok.
You could always get a sunbed by the pool no matter what time of day you went down.
All in all this was a very nice place to spend a lazy holiday.

We have just returned from Icmeler (our first trip to Turkey). I only booked the holiday the week before we went and I was not sure what to expect. The Mersoy Bellavista was great. Even though it is just a five minute walk to the beach, the location up a quiet side street was good. Our room was on the fourth floor and we had great views from our balcony of the mountains behind us. The room was like that of a boutique hotel - very clean and spacious, fabulous modern bathroom, tv, good balcony etc. The air con was a wee bit noisy when you were trying to sleep but you soon got used to it. We stayed b and b - the breakfasts were ok but we are not huge breakfast eaters anyway. We didn't try the food in the hotel at any other time as there is such an abundance of fantastic places to eat - would recommend La Grotta, Waterfall, Bamfoo, Su Sesi, Blue Rainbow and Bonjour. Great holiday, will definitely go back.

After spending a week with my family in Mersoy Bellavista, Icemeler, I thought I should let you all know what you're missing out on. The hotel itself is well situated within 5 minutes walking distance from the local beach and right at the heart of Icmeler. There are plenty of restaurants and excursions to book from Icmeler (or Marmaris-only a 15-20minute bus trip at 2TL per person). Finally I'd like to say thankyou to Mommi, Muzzy, Ozzy, Liz, Memoli and the staff at Mersoy Bellavista for being friendly and helpful, making our stay at this hotel a happy holiday.

we really enjoyed our relaxing holiday here, we met some really nice people, danny and kathryn from ireland, and lots of others, we did find that some people complained a lot in the hotel about tummy bugs , but i think you get these things on holiday wherever you go because of the change of food and water etc, we had no problems and we ate in the hotel and also could recommend the waterfall , cupids, and the florida bar, drinks in the hotel were resonably priced and the bar staff were excellent, liz ,ozzie, and muzzy, were a credit to the hotel and should be paid lots of money for the service they give .

When we first arrived we were told that we were very lucky and had been "upgraded" from a standard room to a suite in their sister hotel, The Oriental Suites just up the road... We went with it and were taken to a room that I can only describe as a Pontin’s type room, with a stain ridden sofa and balcony overlooking a car park, bin area and another hotels bar area (complete with loud music).

If this happens to you, refuse in the first instance, this is not an "upgrade", just a bigger room in a worse hotel. When we spoke to a couple that spent their first night in the Oriental Suites, they were stuck there for half of their holidays.

After 20 minutes we had gone to see the only supposedly available room in the hotel we booked and whilst it was small and cramped it was allot better than the first room given to us.

The room we had was very small, but well appointed. It was cleaned everyday and fresh towels provided. There was a strange smell in the room, but it wasn’t a smell of sewage that other people had complained about

On the first morning we got up at 8:30 for breakfast and found that there were no sun beds available around the pool, this got better towards the end of the holiday after an announcement that towels will be removed from unattended sun beds at 8am, there was also a delivery of more sun beds for the top bar, which we never got around to using.

Lots of people around us at the pool seemed to get stomach upsets (including us) and we put it down to the swimming pool itself and started avoiding it, to be fair, it might have been something else, but it seemed that too many people who spent time at the pool all had the same bug. So instead we used the beach which was only five minutes walk down the road. If you try this yourself, follow the road the path to the right until you get to a large restaurant where the staff have a white shirt with red writing on it. They offer free sun beds and don't pester you to sell you drinks, just buying one or two drinks throughout the day seemed to keep them happy. The food wasn’t that bad there for lunch either.

The hotel staff around the pool are very friendly and are an asset to hotel, they were very helpful and friendly. The drinks are priced ok, but once you try “Cola Turka” you will probably want to stay away from their soft drinks. These are priced the same as you would find an international brand for elsewhere. We only ordered one once and stayed away from the mixers…

The food was a big disappointment to us. We went half board and the fixed menu was basically the same meal with a different meat (why do they feel that you need to have rice and chips with everything???) The grilled chicken was ok, but you must avoid the meatballs, they were horrific to put it mildly. They did have a pasta option one night and that meal was very nice, but it would have been good to see a choice of main meals, we probably would have eaten more times than we did if there was. On the plus side it was only £70 for us both to upgrade to HB for the two weeks, so it wasn’t as if it was expensive and was ok to fall back on when you wanted something quick.

Breakfast was also fairly poor. The fresh omelette or fried eggs, were very greasy, and the pan frequently ignited as the excess oil was burnt up, so stand back when they are being cooked. The highlight was probably the pancakes that we ate almost every day, try and get them straight from the pan as the ones already cooked were usually cold.

The location of the hotel was actually quite good, five minutes to the beach and on the same road that the Domus goes along to get to Marmaris, which you never had to wait more than 2 minutes for them to go past. There were also plenty of bars, shops and restaurants close by. If you head out of the hotel and cross the road and carry on walking away from the hotel, you will quickly come to the centre of the town, with lots of places to eat, our favorites were The Waterfall (left out of the hotel road) and The Love Boat in the centre of town. If you want to try one of the local excursion companies, we found that the “Local 2” tour office was selling the same or similar excursions for the same price in Lira that the official tour rep was selling in Sterling. To get to this, turn left out of the road from the hotel, cross the road and it is the first excursion stall on the right.

Based on the location of the hotel and the quality of the rooms, I would just about recommend it to other people, but would caveat that with a note that everybody we spoke to around the pool seemed to get ill and the food was a bit hit and miss in the evening and consistently poor in the morning. But if you like pancakes and toast, it is ok. You can get allot worse for the money but I suspect you could get better too…

Dear Sir or Madam,

First of all, I would like to thank you for the answer you gave to the following question: Would you recommend this hotel to a friend? Yes...

I would like to comment to a few notes to make things right:

As for the stomach upset and putting it to the swimming pool: We have the results of the swimming pool for water which are done by Johnson Diversey branch in Marmaris and also through Ahu Hetman hospital and not only Bellavista pool but also all 4 pools at the Mersoy Hotels are clean and have no microbiological or virus effect. These are proved with hospital reports as well. Having said that, you also responded fair and mentioned in the report that it might have been something else.

Most of our guests are eating at the restaurants outside which is quiet normal as we are a Bed and Breakfast hotel. However while choosing the restaurant, the only variable should not be the value of the food but also the quality and cleanliness of the place are also very important issues. We have many local shops in our area selling kebabs or pizza or pitas etc and this type of food might be really dangerous especially at high temperatures at regions such as Icmeler and Marmaris region. I know some of our guests choose this type of restaurants and eat kebabs and as a Turkish person, I really do not think this is the best idea to do so at very warm weather. By saying that, I also respect every decision that our guests are giving but this is just a small warning. In these cases, I also believe it is really unfair to blame the hotel for stomach upsets. We have a full All Inclusive Hotel, sister hotel Mersoy Exclusive, and we never heard of any complaints such as stomach bugs etc- in which case there should be more complaints as Mersoy Exclusive is an All Inclusive hotel than a BB hotel, Mersoy Bellavista. We believe in our property and hygiene standards. Therefore we trust our restaurants in the hotel and water standards and they are checked regularly by the most prominent hospital in Marmaris and also through Johnson Diversey. With all respect, I kindly request from all guests to think twice before coming to conclusion for our hotel.

We hope to see you again at Bellavista.

Sincerely,

Riza Ersoy
