“Not worth the money”
Reviewed September 20, 2013

We have just returned from a 7 night stay here..

Positive - Staff which make this Hotel.. Ali, Fonzy, Ibo, Turan- Idris-Cimi
These Staff are the most hard working , and so very committed to ensure your holiday is perfect they could not do enough for you, very welcoming and friendly. AND A CREDIT TO THIS HOTEL, well done keep up your hard work..:)

Negative- On arrival we found the check in desk at Dalaman airport with the Thomas Cook Logo and Not Directline Holidays the rep soon changed her board over

On arrival at the hotel we were showed room 4101, which was a pool view room in the basement was very dark and smelt so very damp and the bathroom was covered in water, not sure if that was from the drains? we were Refusing to sleep in this room..
Returned to Reception, where we were advised no rooms left, !! however possible tomorrow as they say! I advised that there was NO WAY we were staying in that room.. the receptionist called to the sister hotel via phone, and advised that we have another room which was a suite. Which we looked at and was better Not by all means 4* still... there was an additional cost over £100 for this, I was not going to spoil our holiday and we paid reluctantly,

Our holiday was half board, Unfortunately that night when we went down for dinner, the food on offer had No labels as to what it was, and so very tasteless... we were advised that this is the food on the half board option, Or you can pay for food from the menu??????????from that night we paid to eat out every night And had far better food, so another added expense..

However in the daytime(we did eat a couple of lunches off the main menu which was very good, but why should we have to pay again for food when you already paid half board""

This was not the best time in Turkey and Spoilt our holiday and certainly NOT 4*.. I will be in contact with our travel agent ...

Room Tip: If you have not booked Don't"

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thanks for your feedback.

First of all, thanks for complimenting our staff. Very kind of you.
On the other hand, the transfer services has nothing to do with our hotel. Therefore mentioning it on the negative side of the hotel is not fair as we, as hotel, has nothing to do with flights and transfers.

From experience, I can say that the guests who pays extra for an upgrade at RESORT, always tends to complain. However please note that the guests who booked and paid at home; back in England or Holland, already paid for the extra to stay in the suite which you stayed. Therefore, I really do not understand why people are to complain when they pay extra for an upgrade in Resort.

As for half board, there are very few people with this option and we charge only 2,5 GBP from the tour operator and I strongly believe that we are giving a very good service of Half Board; a very good VALUE FOR MONEY. What we are paid is not even the cost of what we are getting; not even including the service.

We will be turning to ALL INCLUSIVE next year with Thomas Cook / Airtours and all guests will be AI. So wil not have this problem.

Best Regards,

Supposed to be 4 star hotel where that rating came from is beyond me. We stayed bed and breakfast for 11 nights in September, 2013 breakfast was shall we say not worth getting up for powdered orange juice inedible food and only served between 8 and 10 a.m. So if you had an early morning trip to go on or an early departure time hard luck. The tablecloths were not very clean, looked as though they had been on for about 2 or 3 days. The toilets behind the restaurant were also for use by people in the pool, the level of cleanliness was not what you would expect and the smell was pretty bad. In the reception area is a tripadvisor award for excellence! That is totally beyond my belief I suggest a mystery guest with a dustpan and brush to sweep the dust balls floating across the floor like tumble weed. The 1st night we were put in a basement room supposed to be select with pool view it stunk, was tiny and had mildew all over the bathroom. We asked to be moved and we were told only room available was a standard room which we took. No way is this 4 star the floor was filthy with stains which obviously had been there ages. wallpaper dirty and peeling off. No sheets on beds only rough and stained off white cellular blanket. What's all that about? My advice don't go. Lots of better places about especially at the price you're paying.

Room Tip: Go to a different hotel.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thanks for your feedback.

The Tripadvisor award; Traveler Choice Award 2012, which is an award that is given to less than 1 % of the hotels around the globe, is true and valid award; which was sent to us by Tripadvisor management. And this year we also had a certificate of excellence.

We serve Turkish breakfast along with fress omellettes, pancakes and other fress stuff that is cooked on site and we have a nice breakfast buffet with hot and cold plates.

We are sorry to hear that you did not had a good experience. With effort and some detail attention, I believe that we will come to a successful outcome and thanks for your feedback.

We arrived at the Mersoy Bellavista on the 7th of September, we were greeted by a young man at reception who was very welcoming and his colleague showed us to our room. He showed us where the safe was, which yes you do have to pay for but it covers the hotel if you loose the key so had no problem paying. He also advised us that you need the key card in for the electric and air con. We arrived very late so went for some drinks out of the hotel.

We went down to the pool bar next day where the staff there Ali and Fonzy were very welcoming introducing themselves and what the bar offers drink and food wise! Could not fault bar staff at all ali and fonzy very entertaining and always very efficient at there jobs! With out a doubt played a huge part in our fab holiday.
Breakfast I felt was impressive as yes it was buffet style but with an added bonus of Ibrahim cooking you a choice of pancakes, omelettes and fried eggs in front of you fresh which I feel was an added bonus. Also his friendly nature and lovely smile every morning.

Pool area was lovely very relaxing and for us the added bonus being it was adult only. Pool size very good. Pool area always busy, sometimes no sun beds available but that is sometimes due to people taking up more beds than they actually require so this issue is more of individuals being selfish not the hotels fault. You never needed to get up and get a drink Ali and Fonzy would make sure that you had everything you needed drinks etc.

The room we had was lovely there was nothing to fault it was clean and our cleaner was great, everyday was cleaned, fresh towels provided and pretty patterns made on our bed everyday.

We had a great stay and we also met some great people who we will stay in contact with.
We really enjoyed our holiday and couldn't fault the hotel at all!

Thankyiu Mersoy Bellavista and all the staff there!

Spent one week 10-17th Sept in a pool view standard room which was as booked. It was spacious and quite well equipped. Air con worked well and was nice and quiet. Shower temp was unpredictable and would change from hot to cold without warning. Room was nicely decorated and in good condition but the daily cleaning was not a good standard. Sometimes the room smelt as if a dirty mop had been used on the floor just after the cleaner had been in and twice I found a bunch of hairs which were not ours which was pretty disgusting.

I read another comment about glasses being left in the corridor and this is still happening. Glasses lay for at least 48 hrs on our floor (3) then we noticed them lying on the floor below with a few more added.

There are signs saying luxury redefined but I did not notice any signs of luxury during my stay.
Reception area is quite comfortable but some chair covers are ripped and floor tiles are broken so does not look smart.

Hotel is in a great position and we had a lovely mountain view from the balcony. Balcony was tiny though and as the air con pumped hot air on to the balcony we couldn't really use it as it was too hot.

Cover on bed was not big enough, it was narrower than the width of the bed so was useless. Bed was comfy though.

Pool area is lovely but sun beds have seen better days and the cushions are filthy.

We found the bar staff lovely and they all do a really good job.

Turkish Night was really good.

With a change of management this could be a great hotel. It has a lot going for it but standards should be higher for a 4 star..

Room Tip: We met many people unhappy with the first room allocated. Our pool view room on third floor was fine...

Just got back for a 7 night stay at the Mersoy Bellavista Suites.
Like the reviewer a few below, Icmeler itself definitely wasn't what
my boyfriend and I had imagined when we booked - more an overspill of
Marmaris rather than the quieter alternative that we were expecting.
Lots of neon lights and blaring music as opposed to quiet, romantic
and relaxing, however the Mersoy Bellavista Suites offered the escape
from the noise that we wanted.

After a few initial hiccups with a broken shower and indifferent male
night shift reception staff, our stay at this hotel was great!
Although this was our first trip to Turkey we could comfortably say
that the Mersoy Bellavista is not a 4* hotel and not 'luxury
redefined', at least not in our standard select room but it was
comfortable and clean, had a lovely pool view and everything we
needed/wanted. It even tried to be a bit boutique-like with its
feature wallpaper. What really makes this hotel is the bar staff; Ali
and Fonzy are wonderful at what they do! Friendly, attentive,
hardworking, charming and genuinely nice guys. This extends to their
support staff including the polite young man that makes the eggs in
the morning and the other waiters.

The pool and surrounding sun loungers and pods are lovely. However be
warned, to reserve a Pod by the pool your towel will have to be down
before 7:30. The area is kept immaculately clean and guests happy by
the seemingly effortless work of Ali and Fonzy and co. So much so
that as well as lazy days spent by the pool we chose to spend many
evenings at the hotel pool bar after having gone out for dinner because
we genuinely enjoyed the atmosphere and company at the bar.

The breakfasts are simple but there's plenty of it and the freshly
cooked omelettes, fried eggs and pancakes are what makes it. The
Turkish Night at the hotel is lots of fun with better than average
performers - the male belly dancer is particularly good - but expect
audience participation!

Overall the hotel is of a good standard. There are lots of added
features that tries to set the Mersoy Bellavista Suites apart like the
featured wallpaper, outdoor jacuzzi etc but the problem is much of it
isn't maintained. It's not perfect and if you look for cracks you'll
find them but we made the most of it and had a fantastic time here.

All the best to all the amazing bar staff,
Romeo and Juliet

Room Tip: We stayed in room 3409.

I've just come back from a 10 day stay at the Bellavista suites, it was my first holiday away with my boyfriend, so after being told that Icmeler was a quiet, traditional Turkish resort, you can imagine how shocked we were to arrive to copious amounts of bars boasting neon lights and the YMCA blasting at full volume. After arriving at 12:30am we were very tired, and received no helpful information from the reception desk - in fact the guy could not understand what we were saying at all. Throughout our time here I found reception staff to be pretty useless - so make sure you come prepared with maps and all the information you need!! We were in room 3410, the top floor overlooking the pool area, which was lovely. The room was basic - I definitely wouldnt say it was 4*, but it did the job and was kept clean and tidy. The pool area is really lovely and clean. The bar staff - Ali and Fonzy were absolutely hilarious and couldn't do enough for you. Go to their Turkish night - you'll be guaranteed a laugh! Such characters and made our stay at this hotel!!

The beach, or what was left of beach after rows and rows of sunbeds was okay, definitely more shingle/cigarette butts than sand, but the water was clear and as each hotel has it's own section of beach you were always able to get a bed!

We went on 3 boat trips during our stay, a lazy day (a good day, although the food was terrible and the music was pumped out at full volume), a moonlit boat trip (we were expecting a romantic quiet evening.. it was that until the strobe lights and club music started. Again - food terrible) and a boat trip to Dalyan (would definitely recommend - you see turtles, go to turtle beach which is lovely and sandy, see the tombs in the mountains and then go to the mud baths).

In terms of restaurants, if you want to avoid the tacky restaurants that sell everything from pie to paella, then the 3 I would recommend is Cafe Del Mar (A 10 minute walk from Icmeler along the promenade heading towards Marmaris, it is right on the sea front and overlooks Icmeler bay, its quiet, candle lit and the waiters are so lovely!). The Love Boat was another restaurant that was great. If you want to have some traditional Turkish cuisine then definitely head to Hanedan - the food is excellent, although a shame it is opposite a karaoke bar so if you can withstand the wailing of wannabe Whitneys then it is worth it!

You may, like me, get fed up with being hassled by street sellers and excursion sellers, so make sure you stay strong and say no if you aren't interested! It gets very annoying!

I realise that this review sounds negative, but we made the most of it and actually had a really great time! Just be prepared that Icmeler is nowhere near a quiet romantic resort!!

Room Tip: We went for a select standard pool facing room - it was slightly more expensive but well worth it!!

We had this Hotel checked out by our Travel Agent for wheelchair accessibility. Phone calls between Jet2 and Co-op Travel and the Hotel confirmed everything was fine for wheelchairs, said we could have a large balcony and as my husband is unable to stand up we could have a bath rather than a shower. Well we got our large balcony & bathtub, but, the ramp at the front of the hotel is very small & so steep that it took 3 men to get my Husband into the hotel! The ramp down to the pool area are also very steep, impossible for a wheelchair user to use on his or her own. I managed to spot a ramp that is used by the staff for goods deliveries etc and was told although it wasn't for guest use, my husband could use it to get in and out of the hotel. If it hadn't been for that we would have had to move to another hotel, because getting in & out of the front entrance is virtually impossible, there was always someone to help, but we shouldn't have to ask for help all the time.

There are many good & bad reviews about this Hotel, the room we were given on arrival, was the Tokyo suite, the decor was all dark red & black, very dreary, the bed was about 6 ins from the ground (Japanese style) and with it being so low down, it took nearly 5 minutes to get my Husband back up into his wheelchair, we spent one night in there and were then given a room with a pool view, large balcony & bath, it was on the ground floor so we didn't have to use the lift (which we were told kept breaking down) It was a lovely room, (Rome Suite) bright and clean, plenty of space and the much needed air-con.

Apart from the ramp issue we had a lovely time, Fonzy & Ali helped us a lot and even though they were short staffed they didn't let their standards drop. Always cheerful & helpful.
