“Great value, fresh food, nothing too much trouble”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

We're a big fan of El Nino's having been going there for the last ten years or so. We always receive a very warm welcome. Food is very reasonably priced and is always hot and freshly cooked. The lunchtime menu is a bit more limited but still a good range of toasties, jacket potatoes, omelettes and sandwiches. For dinner I recommend the lamb guvec and the koftas. Wine is also reasonable at 25tl a bottle (about £8).

The chicken goujons and fishfingers in the children's menu are home made. However, I do wish they'd do a broader ranger of children's dishes which included some veggies instead of chips. This is an issue with all restaurants in Hisaronu though - none of them seem to have any healthy options. That said, Ali was happy to provide us with a plate of fruit for the baby and nothing was too much trouble. The highchairs there are also very well looked after and clean which is more than can be said for some of the other restaurants in the town.

“hard to find...but worth it!!!”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

stayed in ovacik and walked right to the bottom of hisaronu and couldn't find el nino, so posted on the forum for directions and great info given, so popped in the right direction and saw Ali in his hat with a welcoming smile and handshake. fresh flowers on the table, drinks there in a jiffy... free balloon bread with garlic butter, had fried aubergines, the other starter was cheesy mushrooms followed by the lamb gouvek (prob spelt wrong) and the seafood stew, which came with a big plate of salad, rice and chips each 2 starters, 2 mains and 3 lge efes - for less than £21 couldnt eat it all but was lovely!!! thoroughly reccomend. thanks Ali

“Handy for breakfast”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

We are staying in an apartment only 50-70 yards from El Nino and this year we decided to try the full English Breakfast. It costs 7.49TL and comprises 2 eggs , Bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomato, beans and toast!! Actually it was more than we could eat and well cooked. The bacon was really lovely, better than we can usually get in Hisaronu. The owners are lovely guys, very attentive and helpful.
