Wooden parts of the hotel's exterior look like untouched for decades. It seems that the owner shifted the bulk of the annual renovation and refurbishment budget to the new and luxurious group hotel, nearby! Rooms are small, but in good shape. There are not many options in the hotel if you expect too much for short ski breaks! There is almost nothing special in the hotel. So, better to spend your time at fairly beatiful ski trails. They are nice and picturesque, indeed. Lifts are all o.k. Variety of the foods is good, the taste is little better than average, but way below its neighboring rival hotel, Grand Kartal. If your aim is just to ski on good trails, then it is a reasonable choice to go.

Dorukkaya is one of the few hotels in Kartalkaya. and it is one of the better ones overall. The fare is all-inclusive, you can get 4-5 meals a day as well as included skipasses.
The weekend checkin&out processes are hectic, there is no order whatsoever. They should definitely improve the reception experience. they get 50tl deposit per skipass, which is an unnecessary and old-fashioned process. The meals are above average, especially considering the wide range of alternatives. On the other hand, the live music at dinner time was unbearable for me.
Be careful about the rooms. The refurbished ones are good enough, but you should specifically request one of those. Some other rooms are tiny or very old.
The slopes are good enough in Turkish standards, not very long, but at least decent. you dont wait a lot for the t-bars, but the only ski-lift queue might take some time. At least it is brand new, for 4 people and does have a hood.
Value for money is not very good, you can stay in the Alps for a similar fare. Kaya Palazzo, which belongs to the same group, is way more expensive, but more luxurious as well.

Room Tip: our room on 5th floor was refurbished.

Great snow, lifts, snowboard park, food, beer and wonderful hospitality from the staff. We WILL be back!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the lifts!

Dorukkaya Hotel is one of the all-inclusive resort hotels on Kartalkaya Mountain in Bolu Turkey.
It is an older hotel however the rooms are niely refurbished and decorated.
The rooms are small but cozy = set up with 2 single beds and two bunk beds - ideal for families with young kids who want to syat in the same room.

The room has a modern design, very nice walk-in shower and good water pressure.
The room also has a refrigertor.

The food is open buffett but with quite few selection, standard fair for Turkish higher end all-inclus;ve hotels.

The internet is unnecessarily expensive (25 TL/day)!!!

The room needs hooks installed to hang heavy ski coats and pants - the closet is small for bulky equipment.

Ski room is bright and friendly staff - in fact, they will put on your ski boots and take them off for you if you desire - not something for us :-)

Room Tip: Make sure you get the refurbished rooms - some are still original and not very nice...
