“Definitely Happy”
Reviewed October 27, 2011

I was not going to leave a review but after reading the two of these reviews I thought “Did I stay somewhere different from you”
We had perfect instructions on how to find the place, weeks before we travelled and Estrella Lodge is on a main road within the 5kms marker of Javea, so something’s not right about one of the reviews. Yes! it’s a bit far to walk but Keith is more than willing to take those without a car into town and better still pick you up from ‘El Arenal’ after a drink at night even if you have a car….. We had breakfast on the terrace each morning and could not have asked for more, nor would we have got more elsewhere.
We were house hunting and it was great to ask questions from two locals with so much knowledge and a lot of contacts. Because of not being on holiday and our time being monopolised by estate agents we ate out in the evening as and when but always came back to some wonderful home cooking smells that lingered whilst we sat and had a de-stressing relaxing drink. Absolutely no problems with the room, which had a en-suite and surprisingly enough, several windows, two of which allowed us to witness the sun having risen over Javea and the distant hills. The villa is South facing so the sun was on the pool area all day, perfect for those on holiday and wanting a quiet/peaceful day instead of the hustle bustle of the beach. At no time did we find either Keith or Sandra dis-courteous in fact they were the complete opposite in all our dealings/conversations/requests and from the comments in the guest book I would suggest we were not alone in these findings.

Room Tip: Deal directly with the Estate Agent who has the property on their books, not the ex pat introducer.

What a find! This was our second stay with Sandra and Keith and we have already booked a third. Such a warm welcome, anything you wanted for breakfast and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. I got great use out of the pool (which helped to work off the overindulgence at breakfast) and we are all keen to make use of the tennis court on our next visit. Comfortable, clean rooms and always loads of hot water for showers- so important when travelling with a teenage girl! Keith and Sandra couldn't do enough for us and we felt it was a real home from home. We have been coming to Javea for 30 years and from now on we will be booking in to Estrella Lodge.

Room Tip: We liked the Green Room because it has such easy access to the pool and you really have your own &qu...

Booked in for 2 nights - only stayed one! Difficult to find as no directions were given. Upon arrival the first impression was of untidy entrance with old cars and boats littered around garden. Room had no outlook at all. Trying to find our way back in the dark was a nightmare. Breakfast was not up to scratch. Bed sheet had a hole in it. Over priced, over described and over 6 km from Javea on main road. Not recommended!

I thought I had had enough of Spain over the years, but circumstances sent me to Sandra and Keiths beautiful home, and it really becaome 'my' home for the duration of our stay.Wonderful food, Keiths stories are even funnier than mine and they both really do go out of their way to make everything perfect for your holiday.Stunning views, peace if you want it, lively if you want it. Absolutely nothing to fault this villa for any age group who appreciate the good things in life at a realistic price. Excellent!

Lovely setting, spacious rooms, and warm hospitality. Keith and Sandra are very genuine people, very accomodating and flexible to our needs. This was an extremely good value for this type of accomodation. The terrace near the pool is absolutely lovely with a territorial view and the "sleeping elephant" mountain behind you- if you like, you can have your meals on the terrace overlooking the pool. Although we didn't use these services they also offer other meals than breakfast - Sandra loves to cook- and Keith provides a taxi service to the airport and town as needed. I think this would be an ideal place to have a family reunion or celebration- there is plenty of room, a pool, tennis, and home-cooking and some very nice hosts.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed a fantastic 2 night stay at Estrella Lodge, we only wish it had been longer. The location is stunning, set at the foot of the Montgo mountains but within easy reach of nearby Javea. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and friendly and made us feel at home straight away. We particularly enjoyed using the private tennis court and swimming pool which we were lucky enough to have to ourselves during our stay. The breakfasts were very lovely too and set us up nicely for the day ahead. Thoroughly recommended.

We were apprehensive about staying in a "hosted villa" but fancied trying out swimming at the foot of Montgo in October in the sun, and needed a base to get to Javea easily. We needn't have worried at all as we were made so welcome that within a couple of hours we felt as if we'd known our hosts for years.

Our room was clean and comfortable with a fabulous wet room/shower, another new experience! We were booked for bed and breakfast, apart from the first evening, as we arrived late, when we stayed in for dinner. The food was delicious, and Sandra catered for my dietary problems, a very nice touch. We then decided to take dinner every other night. Sandra makes a mean paella! With relatives also staying, it made for a lovely family atmosphere. And yes, we did swim in the solar heated pool, with Keith having his work cut out covering and uncovering the pool. We felt as if nothing was too much trouble. Eating outside watching beautiful sunsets, what more could we ask for? We did not want to leave....
