“Excellent - especially the tapas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2012

Ate here in November 2012 (couple in our 30s). Had 3 tapas as appetizers and a main each, followed by dessert.

The tapas were the highlight - each came out separately and each was obviously freshly cooked and piping hot. And each one was exceptionally tasty (I recommend the home-made meatballs), not to mention generous portions. All were, as an added bonus, largely free of the excess oil that I've come to get used to.

Mains (fish and piglet) were again piping hot, cooked perfectly and accompanied by fresh veg.

Had a bottle of the house red (a Temporanillo) which was very reasonably priced and extremely drinkable.

It's not the cheapest around, but you get what you pay for. In the winter a slightly cheaper menu is available (5 EUR for tapas and 15 for mains).

Highly recommended.

“Imaginative menu, well-cooked steaks, tempting desserts.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2012

An imaginative menu makes Casa Grau one of the best eating venues in Jávea. Opened in the summer of 2011, it has quickly developed a trusted reputation and booking is always recommended to avoid disappointment. There's just about something for everyone on the menu from tasty tapas, great seafood and some mouth-watering meat dishes. And it is probably for the latter that Casa Grau has become most renowned. Our friends, who were visiting the restaurant for the first time, proclaimed that the 'solomillo' was the best that they had tasted for a long time, cooked to perfection to their individual taste. Whilst the main course might have sufficed, we were all tempted by the long list of desserts which didn't fail to satisfy, especially the chocolate brownies. Finally, the service was excellent from Katie and the rest of the staff. In addition, the owner/chef is renowned for doing the rounds to meet his guests, a very pleasant touch in a very friendly restaurant. Long may it continue.
