“Subtil professionnel and vert foot value”
Reviewed January 5, 2013 via mobile

We heard from friends that the restaurant changed owner and that is good so we decided to give it a go as we are in search of excellence to give tripadvisor reviewer food for thought.....
We went there for lunch and took the menu at euros 15 inclusive of 3 courses and half bottle of wine.
The menu choice gave 4 appetizers, 4 main and 3 desserts. As I personally like beef, I had the chorizo goat cheese quiche which was excellent, the onglets with shallots which was very tender and tasty, and a colonel (lemon sherbet and vodka) for dessert. The wine was exceptional as well.
We sat at the sunny garden in January which was a real delight. The owners, both very young, were taking care of the service and gave very good attention to all the guests.
A top recommend.......I will go back for lunch and dinner.
Lunch menu changes every Thursday's.

“Now moved to the old 121 site on the Jesus Pobre road”
Reviewed January 5, 2013

The interior has been upgraded giving a stylish and upmarket feel, there are also comfortable shaded areas outside for sunny days and balmy evenings.
The owners are friendly and professional with good attentive service. The food is well prepared, beautifully presented with an overall French orientation. We found it rich for our palate but enjoyed it nevertheless. The menu is extensive with a la carte and also a range of economic to gourmet menu choices and a good wine list.
Certainly a good addition to the wide selection of restaurants in Javea especially for those who enjoy modern French cuisine.

“Le Gourmand has relocated to the Montgo!”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

What a wonderful welcome to the Montgo ... the new location has great atmosphere with a rustic feel. We went for Christmas Day - the menu was great and the food was delicious!

“First Visit to Le gourmand on Jesus Pobre Road”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

Our first visit to this restaurant was on New Years eve, the place was packed, no more tables available. The host and his wife were very attentive and friendly, as were the other waitresses.
The food was presented at a 'nice pace', with time to enjoy the wonderful flavours in between courses, it was beautifully presented, and superbly cooked.
The atmosphere and live music made the whole evening very enjoyable.

“Le Gourmand Jesus Pobre Road”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

We also (a party of six) visited this new restaurant last week - We liked the new interior and new position of bar - plus the greeting of the host and his wife. We arrived at 8.00 for our booked table and waited at our table for one hour before ordering our menu or receiving a drink!
Unfortunately two of our guests like to eat early so we were all disappointed - I did mention this to the owner who said everyone arrived at the same time! There were empty tables though.
When we eventually received our food (all ordering the 25 euro menu) we were extremely pleased with the quality of the food, presentation and flavours. What a shame for the wait!
It is our local restaurant and we hope our problem was only a blip because the food certainly makes up want to book again.
