“great stay in Denia with more to experienvce than expected”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2010

We stayed 6 days in Denia in the Hostal Hotel Loreto.
We had a rental car and with one call to the owner of the hotel he guided us with no problems to the privat parking space (see also for driving directions the website as the small roads in this center are very small but very nice). Everything is in walking distance: to the beach less than 10 minutes walk. The street where the hotel is located is one big terras where it is fun to sit all day.
The hotel is serving breakfast which is spanish but with the personal touch like a hot sandwhich with cheese and bacon and cappucino was great. Normally a second lunch in Spain is taken at 11, compared to Holland for low prices. The rooms were very nice and clean. People running the hotel were very friendly and service minded.

Todo:
A sailing tour to Calle is great , the large market is 7 minutes walk from the hotel with lots of bargins, a diner at the harbour with great view over the sea and walking along the beach and a tour to the waterfalls

Stayed in this hostel on more than one occasion. The hostel is run by a very friendly family willing to give tips and take time to make your stay enjoyable. They gave me good advice on where to go and what to do, like neigbouring towns, restaurants and bars. It is very easy for example to go to Valencia for a day! The hostel has lovely warm colours and feels homely. It is in spanish style and in the old town part of the center. The beach is easy to reach and the backdrop is this old castle, worth a visit. The hostel offers parking, which is easy, and has a roof terrace, which is a nice escape and view. The room was clean and comfy and i especially liked the dark shutters for at night! The owner told me many customers sleep really well there because of them and like them like i did. I will definitely stay there again next time.

We had an absolutely amazing experience at the Hostal Loreto. We had booked the hostal mainly because it was one of the only ones open last minute. But we still can't figure out why--the service was first class- literally worlds better than some of the treatment we received from other 4-star hotels in different parts of Spain. The owners are Scottish and very friendly--they offer tons of insight on the area and you feel as if you are part of their "temporary family".
As far as the actual hotel goes--we had a balcony room overlooking the street and loved it. It was a very spacious room--larger than our 4-star in Barcelona. Although the breakfast wasn't *amazing*, most Europeans do not eat a large breafast---just a cafe con leche and a croissant or pastry. If you want to experience the real Denia and not some chain hotel located on the not so attractive industrial port, than Hostal Loreto is the way to gol It is charming and real...we truly loved it and most definitely will stay there again.
Oh I also forgot to mention that it is right on a perfectly charming pedestrian street with tons of restaurants and shops. The beaches near the city centre are not something to be bragged about so for us being in old town (right next to the Castle was great!!).
PS--one thing is to watch that first step when entering the Hostal--many an unaware traveller has missed their step :)

Booked this hotel because it was the closest available thing to Valencia for the grand prix. This hotel is impossible to find by car. all one way streets and walk streets. parking is in a lot 500 feet down a walk street. rooms very small and no frills. the included breakfast was the worst ever- juice and one cruisant. .. and we waited 10 minutes for that. no nice buffet breakfast like most hotels. There are lots of places to eat right out front at night since it is a walk street. The hotel is very picturesque and quaint.

Part of the charm of our hotel is that we are distinctly Spanish - in fact almost 80% of our clients are Spanish! Our traditional Spanish breakfast (which is included in the price of the room) consists of a glass of orange juice followed by a cup of coffee together with half of a delicious toasted baguette, drenched in olive oil and spread with freshly grated tomato plus a croissant with butter and jam. For an extra charge of two euros we will happily supply a cooked breakfast on request. Our website contains maps and detailed instructions on how to find our hotel and parking. We will gladly make changes or amendments to this information if clients let us know which information they find confusing.

Hostal Loreto is a historical building in the middle of Denia, near by the beach, shops and harbor.
The staff are very friendly and they really want to make your stay unforgetable!
The room was really nice and complete, with airco, TV (a flatscreen!), fan and hair blower.
Breakfast is served in the restaurant in the same building. You can also have lunch and dinner there. The food was really good and the service in there was very friendly.

My stay in Denia was great because of Hostal Loreto!

In a quit street in the middle of Denia is the Hostal from Matty and Douglas Horne and their family, a nice-quit-clean and friendly place for starters and worldly travelers

It is very close to everything, the castle the shops and the harbor
parking is possible nearby when needed

All rooms are lately renovated with airco and a TV and safe deposit box are added, also the restaurant has given very recently a complete new look

Even the night porter was friendly when knocking on the door at 6AM
and is available to open the front door the whole night
