“major air conditioning problems”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

We stayed at this hotel recently and were moved to two new rooms during that time, all in one week. The problem was caused by faulty air conditioning when turned OFF at night. Although this was the case it sounded dreadful with vibration and the sound of rushing water that you thought any moment water would come out of the vents. This was intermittent throughout the hotel and particularly if your came out of the lift and had to turn right to your room that was worse. Would suggest you ask for a room to the left of the corridor. The food was ok for a week. Can't comment on the entertainment as didn't bother with it preferring to sit outside in the evenings. No problem with sunbeds and expected more Spanish in at the weekend so the hotel wasn't bursting at the seams. The staff apart from one of the Managers at reception, and unfortunately didn't see his name, were nice people. Usual thing though not enough staff to cope with guests at the bar, outside and dining room, but saying that they all worked extremely hard. Liked Denia very much and we had no problem with anyone there. Would like to return to that area but not to this hotel.

Room Tip: One with a balcony as ones without are stuffy and hot.

I have a very deep gratitude to this hotel for making me a very happy lady. I went there the year after losing my lovely husband, on my own and met the most wonderful man, who was on holiday at the same time, we hit it off and have been together now for nine years, So obviously that was a big PLUS. After the first few years the whole hotel started to drop its standards, although after ETA bombed it ( We were there at the time)!!! Quite frightening, the renovations made it very presentable, The rooms are pleasant ,twins overlooking the pool, and two double beds in roadside rooms, Not enough drawer space etc, but ok. They were the good points. Negative, food poor, entertainment totally geared up to the Spanish, who take the hotel over, not only the quests but the locals, every evening for dancing. Meal times are manic to say the least, noisy, and they dont believe in queing, or tidying up after theyve eaten. Staff on the whole have always been very nice especially Alicia on reception, Denia is a nice laid back small port, and always been quite safe, till just lately when there are alot of refugees hanging around on corners begging and pestering

Room Tip: If you want a balcony pool side, if not the rooms on road side are alot bigger, but windo...

A lovely hotel with helpful staff very clean but !!!!!!do not go after 20th june as this is when the schools break up. You have to queue to get into the dinning room and the noise is unbelievable with kids running around and climbing up the buffet. No seats to be had in the evening or round the pool, a complete nightmare, but thats to be expected when 100 children descend on a hotel, otherwise a great place to stay.

Room Tip: all rooms are spotlessly clean only down side no mini fridge. Beds and towels changed often.the room...

We should remember we are guests in a lovely hotel in Spain. Spain isn`t England. so enjoy.
I found the Spanish people staying at the hotel made me most welcome and helped me join in,
as my spanish is poor.
I loved the town of Denia, I felt safe, and again the people most welcoming.
I went with Saga holidays . I couldn`t fault one thing. Most relaxing, enjoyable holiday.

Room Tip: I had a great room. I overlooked the garden. No noise just people enjoying an evening drink. I would...

Rooms very basic - no cups - no glasses - no drinks refrigerator available unless prepared to rent. In May 50% of guests were Spanish seniors on their Spanish Government subsidised breaks - bun fight in the dining area - every evening the main hotel lounge and bar was given over to the Spanish who sat en masse in chairs in front of the stage up to 6 deep. They were immovable. Saga guests paying full rate were relegated to the basement lounge for their entertainment where there was one small bar and one waiter if you were lucky.
However the weather was perfect so we still enjoyed the holiday.

Room Tip: Sun in the morning overlooking pool - choose east facing with balcony - smaller room. Sun in the ev...

Usually go Thomson Adult - we were not aware that SAGA do not own all their hotels so this one was three quarters full of Elderly Spanish and families with children. They were so noisy and very argumentative with one another. The location of the hotel is ideal and the cleanliness in the room with balcony cannot be faulted. The views were brilliant and there was plenty to see. The SAGA staff are very helpful and bar staff are very good and remember people by name and drink. The dining room is disgusting - the variety of food etc, dining times are 7.30 - 9.30 we went to dinner one night at 8.30 and they had run out of salmon, prawns and the explanation was that they only had 16 salmon and it had gone. The fried eggs in the morning are not cooked properly and the bacon can be broken in half because it is cooked so long. We ate out most nights. Friends we met lived on ham rolls. Surely this should only be 2 star. An influx of Spanish on our last week made it so there were no sunbeds or chairs to sit on round the pool and they were bringing them from the entertainment room to sit on. The hotel entertainment compares were Spanish and spoke to us on our last night. Would definitely not go back to this hotel ever but would like to visit the area again.

Room Tip: High floor overlooking pool has balcony and wonderful view

A very good basic 3 star hotel, exceptionally clean and good value. Tends to be used by Saga and similar Spanish operators who specialise in retired pleople.
