This Hotel is very nice to look at on the out side. the reception pools golf course etc. However the rooms are basic about the standard of the bewleys newlands cross which is 3 star. we had booked a superior room and in off season was around 110. per room as opposed to 45-55 at the bewleys and the room was exactly the same layout. the bedding basic and the beds so uncomfortable that i did not sleep and neither did my 8 year old. when we asked if this was a superior room they said the rooms where all the same. however our room was not the same as shown on their web site???
the shower was over the bath just defo not 5 star as compared to the 5 star hotels we have experienced in killarney etc. the manager was not available and we asked for him on a few occasions. the last time he was in a meeting and was supposedly going to find us when he was out of it. This did not happen. Infact no effort was made to try and see us at all. And then on the last eve , a phone message was left for us at the reception and this was not passed on to us. Very bad service. The breakfast which was included was good but again not 5 Star at all! Not good value for money especially with the uncomfortable beds!!!!!No sleep makes for a bad holiday!!

Room Tip: they say all rooms the same!!!!

Well, we booked a 7day golf package at a quite attractive price and for this early time of the year the golf course was in a fairly good condition, although quite packed.
Although very clean, the hotel looks a bit tired in every aspect, the lobby, the rooms, the bathroom, the restaurant and urgently needs a complete refurbishment.
The staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was reasonably good, but no variations, almost the same every day. In other hotel/golf ressorts we have been to they offer a basket with differnet fruits to take on the round, it reall won't cost too much in acountry which has abundant fruit, but here you find a warning that it is forbitten to take anything from the buffet. Is this customer friendly? Quality of the restaurant was acceptable.
We had a nice room with golfcourse view, but the TV Set looked like a device from the last century, very small screen and a bad quality of the picture. This is far away from "state of the art".
Some of the furniture seemed to come directly from grandma's storeroom.
The bathroom only has a shower inside the bathtub and for elderly people is it not easy to "climb" in and out, it's simply risky + it has one one of these scruffy plastic curtains... for a 5* hotel....???
We still enjoyed our stay because of the price / quality ratio, but definitively before we come back
quite a number of things have to improved. In this condition it is never a 5* hotel, at best I would rate it 4*.

Room Tip: Try to get a free upgrade to a room with golf course view.

My self and several friends have stayed at the Marriott Denia La Sella Resort every year for the past 9 or 10 years during a regular visit to friends in the area.
The Hotel is bright and Airy and the staff are very welcoming and friendly.
All public areas are all well maintained and kept very clean.
Lack of investment starts to show itself when you leave the public areas. During our last stay in September 2012, we found that Air Conditioning Controls in the rooms didn't work. Carpets in the rooms showed signs of wear and were stained. The towels provided in the bathroom were VERY thin and barely capable of drying anyone after a shower or bath.
The quality of the food is very good and well presented, however, the range of choice available at Breakfast has reduced significantly over the years as has the available selections at the Sunday Brunch Buffet.
Over all this is a good hotel but is showing signs of reducing standards, I assume due to the current economic climate.

Stayed for a week in Nov 2012 on a golf holiday. The hotel is of excellent quality - both very clean and very spacious. Staff are very friendly and very helpful. Attached to the hotel is a 27 hole golf course with each nine being very different in style. The hotel is isolated and not within walking distance of Denia town or the coast so options would be very limited if you are not here to play golf and would probably not recommend it for non-golfers. I agree with many other reviews on here that the hotel is very difficult to find and even our sat nav could not find the hotel and left us stranded on a dirt track that was a dead end in the middle of the night!! Once we finally arrived though, we had a very enjoyable week. In summary, I would recommend this hotel for a golf break.

The positives: a great golf course (if this is your thing) and stunning mountain views. If you are after sea views, forget it - you are some distance from the sea.

This feels like a down at heel Marriott hotel - more the sort of overnight business hotel that I've encountered in the US than a 'resort' hotel.

The rooms are fine and the beds very comfortable but be warned that the walls are thin - if you have neighbors you will hear their conversations (and the, yours).

It's fine and I would stay there again (for the record we were there for a few nights before Christmas), if in the vicinity but this is not somewhere I would actively seek to to go and stay.

The major problem is the service - a sufficient number of staff are surly and disinterested to be a problem. Not all the staff are of this demeanor but in general you are made to feel like they are the guests and everything they are doing is an effort. Not good.

We stayed at this resort last summer (2012) as a family and really enjoyed ourselves. To be fair, we were rarely at the hotel as our friends lived in Moraira and we spent most days at the beach. The swimming pool was fabulous and our son practically lived in it when did return from a day out. It was never over crowded and very clean around the hotel. The rooms were typical Marriott, very large, well dressed, comfortable with great views over the pool and golf course. I can't comment on the food as we never ate in but breakfast was good. We did see a beautiful wedding one evening but it never affected us with the noise as they went inside ( and let's be fair, it wasn't a British wedding, so there was never any fear of loud drunks). Very nice and would return.

Room Tip: Try and ask for a room with a view over the pool / golf course

I write this review with sadness. My husband and myselfa ttended a function on 28th December and stayed overnight. We found that the quality of food and service to be lacking in what we think should be required of this type of hotel. We think that the whole place looks tired. We found the bed to be very hard and uncomfortable The breakfast was of a poor quality and not hot and fresh and the plates were cold. We had also previously booked for Christmas Day Lunch which again was considerably below expectations. I would like to add that Iwe have been going to the Marriott Denia on and off for a number of years. It had always been excellent.

Room Tip: My tip to other travellers, just use the golf course until things improve
