“Virtually the only site in Denia”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

The castle is very unpretentious, but still worth a visit for €3. Keep in mind it does close for siesta between 1:30 and 4.
There are some historic buildings still in fairly good shape, but the main attraction is the views of the city, harbour and the hills. The easiest way to approach the castle is by the stairs beside the city hall. For easier access you can follow the street starting at the same point.
For an additional bonus, use the tunnel to the other side of the city dug right under the castle.

“A must see”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

It is a worthwhile visit if nothing else for the magnificent views of the city and the Mediterranean sea. The rich collection of Roman artifacts takes the visitor back to the times of the Empire and provides a glimpse into the ancient history of Denia and the importance of the city throughout the ages.

“Good views”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

The day was rainy so the museum had closed for lack of visitors. A hurried walk through the grounds allowed us to enjoy the views from the castle ramparts in spite of the weather.

Worth a visit to the castle. Great views of Denia. Cheap visit and the caste is open till midnight this summer so no excuse not to sneak in a visit.
