This place is wonderful. The rooms are clean, very well kept, have great themes, the breakfast setup is great, and the location it awesome! You would think for a place this nice you would pay much more but the price is just right.

To whom it may concern: I normally do not write any reviews, but this place was absolutely perfect! Very clean, nice and near everything! I can't believe their rates are so cheap! Will definitely return if we're in the area again!

A nice , clean, comfortable motel for a great nights sleep. It's without frills, but I prefer a place like this over the old dirty Super 8 our daughter stayed at " because it had a pool.". Boy, were they sorry! It was old, stinky and the beds and pillows were awful. Sleep clean and comfortable at The Territorial Inn, easy to find, helpful desk, and highly recommended by us. We'll hopefully see you there sometime.

This is the only lodging that's in the historic downtown and it is easy walking distance to the key attractions you would want to see here (Fort, Archeology Center) and also to several good restaurants. (See the restaurant reviews.) We had the room with the kingsize bed, which was a good sized room for us and the bed was comfortable and we slept well. The decor is totally western without being too kitsch. It was fine for the two of us and we would stay there again, but there are some things that might put other people off: There was no phone in the room, no "amenities," in fact, except the tv and a small coffee pot. When we checked in, all the fresh linens were stacked in the room but the bed hadn't been made up, etc. So we did that ourselves. Not a big problem, but the only time I've ever had to do that except in a youth hostel. Also, you don't have control over the room temperature, which was a little on the warm side for us, but not enough of a problem to complain. We loved Camp Verde and will go again and probably stay at the Territorial Town Inn, but it might not be right for everyone.

Hello. It is always so nice when a person takes the extra time to be thoughtful and post a nice review. I am delighted to hear they had such a wonderful time. The amenities we offer kind of depend on the room. As an example some rooms come with kitchens and others do not. We do offer a small continental breakfast, and have a nice picnic area complete with horseshoes and views. The bed most certainly should have been made up. This had to have been an oversight on our part giving out a key before the room was completed (sorry about that). Room temperature does depend on how busy we are and which rooms are available. We aim to keep guests comfortable, safe and happy! Again, I would like to very much thank this person for posting a nice review and to thank them for their business. Our folks work really hard and guests like this really make it all worth it! Take care and happy travels!

Territorial Town Inn, Camp Verde, Arizona - Review

As advertised, the beds and sheets and pillows were amazing. Very soft and comfortable. Our room was super clean, too. And for those who appreciate western kitsch, the ambiance is dead on. Our room had a modern faux-west look, complete with a decorated cow skull on gleaming white walls. More rustic charm was provided by timber post and stone-slab furniture, none of it functional enough to use as a writing desk or table.

Shortly after checking in, we strolled to one of the restaurants "within walking distance". The Mexican restaurant was adequate, and the walk there was partially on a highway-like road with no walkway. Returning after our meal and sunset, we chose a route that had a certain dark alley charm, complete with the sense of danger. Other restaurants may be more easily accessible via the main street, but the overall feel of "historic downtown" was of desperately trying to appeal to tourists, but not quite pulling it off. The Inn seemed to be the only beacon of appeal, and the stockade-like parking lot did promote a stand-offish feel that matched the rest of the town.

The rooms were fronted by an attractive veranda with sitting chairs and benches. During our evening stay, a breeze from the south brought the cigarette smoke from the end of the line of rooms where an unpleasant person was sitting next to the No Smoking sign, filling the air with clouds of smoke. Mere speculation on my part, but as there was no motor vehicle associated with that room, I had to wonder if it was occupied by staff members or relations.

Morning sunshine filled and brightened the room, as did diesel exhaust from the truck depot to the north. The small bathroom window opened to a view of a bramble-choked ravine punctuated with litter, but did nothing to alleviate the ingress of fumes. The room's thermostat was locked in a security box and our room was a comfortable temperature. I'm not sure if the heat system had an outdoor intake that was bringing in the fumes, since we were unable to turn it off. And though we generally prefer to sleep somewhat cooler, we were able to sleep well at the pre-set temperature.

The clean, uncluttered look of the room was enhanced by the lack of a refrigerator, microwave or coffee pot. Luckily is was cold enough at night that we were able to keep our leftover Mexican food outside in our vehicle. In the morning, the desk woman was kind enough to heat some water for coffee and to partially warm our food for breakfast.

One bad note: We were traveling for pleasure, but I needed to conduct some business online. Unfortunately, the Inn's internet connection wasn't really useable. Despite repeated confirmations of the password, I couldn't connect at all, and my partner could only get a very spotty, slow connection. I wouldn't recommend the Territorial to anyone for whom an internet connection is important.

In short, an amazing place to sleep comfortably. Less appealing to those looking for an active tourist district, those with respiratory issues, travelers who prepare their morning coffee or meal in their rooms, or anyone who uses the internet while traveling.

Room Tip: Super 8 on the Interstate has functional writing tables, reliable internet, microwave, refrigerator...

Hello. FIrst of all, I would like to thank this reviewer for raving about the quality and cleanliness of our establishment. We really have worked hard to provide an affordable and high quality product. I'm glad overall that the guest enjoyed our great views and felt comfortable. I did want to address some of the concerns raised in this seemingly great review (minus the stars selected): The restaurants we've cited as "within walking distance" are all less than 1 mile from the Inn (some are closer than others). I am glad that our Inn seemed to be the most appealing part of the town, but in all honesty there are other shops and highlights nearby that can give us a run for our money. The town has invested in the historic heritage and I think it is really tasteful and charming. We are indeed a no-smoking facility and so guests must smoke in the designated areas away from room entrances. There is no truck depot to the north and in fact in the over 2 years we've been here I've not seen a single diesel down main street (by us). There is however, as one would imagine a lot of diesel activity on the Interstate and by the Interstate motels a few miles from us. In fact, most of them have diesel parking available (we do not). We do offer microwaves and refrigerators and even kitchenettes in many of our other room types (this particular room did not have those amenities). Our Internet and wi-fi connection are normally very reliable. If there was a lack of service it would have been a very-very rare occurrence to which nobody else mentioned. While I really do like most of the contents of this review (minus the star rating selected) I think it is possible this was posted by a "friendly competitor" of ours 5 miles away on the Interstate. Happy traveling to all and if this was a real review thank you for the kind remarks. Take care!

My husband and I spent 3 days here and weren't sure what to expect as the rates were very reasonable...our room was clean, comfortable beds with a small refrig and microwave which came in handy for reheating some leftovers...coffee pot also.;the bathroom did present a challenge as the floor slanted downward and there is minimal space for hairdryers etc.but there was adequate hot water for bathing...old western feel with log pole furniture.. there is no housekeeping and if you like extra towels, I would suggest bringing your own...Wendy was extremely helpful in suggesting restaurants and activites in the area...would recommend this place to anyone who was looking for a clean, basic room with comfortable beds and friendly, helpful staff...

We stayed here for an event we were a vendor at locally , the staff was very helpful and friendly , rooms are nice and clean , beds are excellent ! Nice decor , bathroom is not user friendly , no where to get ready in the morning , no counter space and no sink space , so curling hair and doing makeup is a balancing act , shower head is far from adept , low water pressure , and the strangest this is NO housekeeping unless you stay a week , no bed service , towel service nada, your room is just how you left it , which feels blah , the whole reason to stay at a motel is this service the feeling of being pampered and cared for , there was coffee in the room but one cream and sugar packet , and three cups coffee , Wendy at the front desk was wonderful ! She offered anything we might need and was very helpful ! She also knows a lot about the area so if you need help just ask . Really no major complaints at all just thought the no housekeeping was weird ! Great place to stop on the way to flagstaff much nicer than the chain hotels and friendlier service , great for families, business, travel .

Hello. I would like to first thank this guest for their business and feedback. I am glad the guest found our service to be great, rooms to be nice and clean, and our beds excellent. The bathrooms do not have a lot of counter space, and we are working on tastefully improving that. The water pressure should be sufficient so we will be sure to look into that. The lack of housekeeping during a stay is on purpose as part of our conservation efforts (technically we advertise and provide "limited housekeeping"). Having said that, if anyone requests fresh linens during their stay we are happy to switch them out. Although, we are always trying to get 5 out of 5 stars, I am glad the guest saw enough in us to still give us 4 out of 5. At the end of the day we are in the business of providing a clean and comfortable room and it appears overall we hit that mark, but we are always working to get one step closer to perfect! Lastly, Wendy our manager is terrific and I'll be sure she hears these kind words!
