We had 2 recommendations from locals to go here for Mexican Dinner! We were excited and hungry and SO disappointed when after a margarita and 2 bowls of chips and salsa (not much flavor - no spice at all) waiting for an hour, finally we were able to flag down our waiter and ask if our food would be coming soon. He said he would check and after another 5 minutes our food arrived and it also was bland, not hot temp, Or flavor! The waiter didn't allow for any changes or substitutions. I am gluten free and requested a bean burrito on corn tortilla instead of flour and he stated NO! It comes on flour tortilla only. I then ordered a tamale, and it was not traditional, but rather a corn bread like batter. I was only able to eat the meat out of it, and the beans. My husband ordered the Verde Burrito and again it was bland, green sauce, Not Green Chili at all!
Looking around the place we saw junk piled in the corner of the room with the pool table! All in all Thumbs DOWN! I'd never come back or recommend this place to anyone!

We had dinner last week at Las Margaritas in Camp Verde. If you are tired of getting your Mexican food fix from corporate chains, this is the place to come. It's still as good as ever. Great atmosphere, personalized service, quality ingredients, fair prices. You can't go wrong.

Great food! Killer Margaritas, love the atmosphere, super service. The parking lot is always full! That is a good indication of the quality. The place to go for me when ever I am in Camp Verde or heading back to Flagstaff driving up from the valley.

Best mexican meal I have had in years. The enchilada sauce was amazing over my chimichanga! It was a real treat to be served by the owner. We're going back tomorrow before we head down to Phoenix.

We were in Campe Verde AZ for an overnight stay on a Tuesday and were planning to have dinner at The Gathering, the hotel restaurant adjacent to the Cliff Castle Casino. Upon checking in, we were informed that the restaurant is now closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday but we could get "bar food" in their cocktail lounge. Since the bar food menu resembled the "that" part of the TV segment "eat this, not that," we decided to venture out to find a new place for dinner.

We stumbled on what appeared to be a roadhouse bar with a dirt parking lot perched on a hill overlooking the town. The colorful, brightly lit sign identified the place as Las Margaritas Mexican Food and Lounge, so we decided to give it a try. It was about 7 PM. A party of 6 was leaving and we were the only ones left in the place.

We have lived in Phoenix over 30 years and have experienced countless Mexican restaurants, both the chains and the independents. Our dining experience here was one of the best Mexican dining experiences we have had. Here's why. The ambience is perfect for a Mexican restaurant: appropriate music in the background at the right volume, lighting that is dim but not too dim, lots of Mexican decor. The interior reminded us of one of those local color, beachfront cafes we have experienced when on vacation in Mexico. Our attentive server presented a lengthy menu that went beyond the expected burritos, tacos and chimis and refilled the bowls with warm chips and salsa before they were empty. Prices were reasonable for what you got with most items in the $8 - $15 range. An ice cold mug of Dos Equis was $2.25 and a glass of wine was $3.50. At those prices, who could order only one round!

We ordered chicken Fajitas for two. As expected, the large dish arrived sizzling with an excellent presentation of the expected sides. However, what was unexpected was a mini sterno can under the serving tray that kept the Fajitas hot and juicy throughout the dinner. We haven't experienced that added touch in all the years we have ordered fajitas at many places.

Granted, we were the only ones in the place on a slow week day evening, so service for us was excellent. We can't speak to what the service might be like on a busy evening. And, of course, this is not the high-end gourmet Mexican cuisine you'll find at the expensive resorts. But if you are looking for a pleasant and satisfying Mexican dining experience just minutes off I-17 in Campe Verde, this place deserves consideration. We definitely plan to return.
