“Fun Day Trip”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2013

Know this about the Out of Africa Park. They are not fully completed with all of their improvements. In fact, there is a lot left to do to make it what it could be. Construction projects are going on all over the place and some look as if they are years away before completion. There is a lot of room there for many improvements. Some black top would be my next suggestion as everything is dirt. Yes, even the parking lot. Speaking of the parking lot: The spaces are to tight together making backing out of your parking space a job in it's self. But, all in all the staff is friendly and do try hard to please. The tiger splash is the park's best feature and they have invested some money into this attraction. If you are taking along the kids or, grandkids they will love to see the tiger dive into the pool. Considering the size of this property I'd like to return in ten (10) years to see what they have done with the place. It really could be developed into a top destination to take the kids/grandkids. There is open air buses to take you around but, we found that walking was best for seeing the animals. Most of the animal enclosures are very large and you have to walk around the enclosure to find and view the amimal/animals inside. By all means you'll want to do the Safari ride first. Sit on the right side of the Safari bus so you can feed the animals. Good luck to this endevor and here's hoping they can afford to continue improving this park. As it is at this moment it's just OK. Ron.

“Tour from above”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013

Went on the zip line last weekend. Had a blast. Didn't think much of it until I got to the top of the stairs and stood on the rocking platform with nothing in front of me but the line above as the wind kicked through at some serious speed. There were about ten people in the group total. Lots of fun and can observe the animals while you wait for the others to zip. Definitely a positive experience. The animals seem happier than at a zoo where they are sometimes just something for human amusement.

“Best Wildlife Park in the US”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013

Every minute spend at this park was well worth the time and price. There is so much to see and enjoy. The safari tour was very interesting, you even get to feed the wildlife while on the safari tour. There are 4 shows and the best show is the "Tiger Splash" one NOT to be missed. On Sun, Wed., and Fri. are the predator feed something to see if your attending on one of those days.

If your close to Phoenix or Sedona make sure you take the time to drive the miles to see this park.

“a slice of the wild”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013

I took my niece visiting from Holland and we loved this park; the tour guides were entertaining, the animals friendly and you could see them up close. The shows were amazing....a must see if traveling between phx. and Sedona. Give yourself atleast 4 hours.

“Wild adventure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

We opted to upgrade our entry with an hour unimog ride which gave us the opportunity to feed giraffe, camel, and long horn cattle. I even allowed my adventuresome spirit to feed a gregarious giraffe with a carrot between my lips. Not everyone can lay claim to being kissed by a real live giraffe! The animals are content and well cared for. The keepers establish they never force the animals to do anything they do not want to do. This brings me to tiger splash. Fun event highlighting a resident tiger playing in a pool and rushing after a favorite toy all culminating in this beautiful creature splashing into the water. For a great memory and photo op consider feeding the tiger for $5 after, it is worth the price in bragging rights alone. There are many other animals to include zebra, wolves, bears, deer, capybara, hyenas, and a host of others. Lastly, look into doing the zip line . It was fun for us spectators to hear the joyful woo-hoos and laughter as people zipped across the park. Very impressive zip line indeed giving the zipper, is that a term?, a grand view of animals below as they flew through the air. A separate trip for the park and zip line might be in order so plan ahead. There is an alternative short zip line "race" between 3 people offered for an affordable price at the end of the tiger splash show if interested. Out Of Africa is a sure fire hit for animal and adventure lovers alike!
TIP: If you opt for some of the additional offers the zoo has over the regular admission price, for example the unimog one hour adventure, I would suggest checking online and booking those adventures in advance. They tend to sell out pretty quickly!
