What a delightful hotel, we stayed there with our two dogs for one night on our way to the Costa del Sol, and really wished we'd booked for two.

The hotel, is a beautifully converted railway station set within a park, and just over the bridge from the town. It has tremendous character, with good sized bedrooms, a huge comfy lounge, along with another smaller cosy lounge with free coffee. There was also a nicely laid out cosy dining room. Outside there were a couple of beautifully furnished small walled gardens. There was also a lovely swimming pool, set in a small walled garden that was so incredibly tranquil.

There were some lovely touches in our room; a large bowl of fresh fruit, complimentary bottles of mineral water, two large bathrobes and slippers.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our evening meal was very good, and reasonably priced, including the wine. The breakfast was excellent. The facilities and comfort was certainly better than many four star hotels we've stayed in.

Our only gripe; we were charged 25 Euros for two small dogs who slept on their own beds. We travel a lot through France and Spain and, when charged, which is not always, the charges are always nominal, on average around 9 Euros for the two. We did think 25 Euros was a little steep and the cost was not shown on Booking.com or the hotel web site. Hence the reason I only put three stars for value. If we hadn't have been charged so much for the dogs I would have given 5 stars.

We have stayed at this hotel twice, last year and just recently. It has great character, charm and friendliness. It is situated just outside the edge of the old town, across the bridge. There is plenty of parking and we like the way the old small station has been refurbished with small touches of the "bygone years" of former travellers. There is a charming restaurant serving very good breakfasts and choice of evening dinners; the bar is within the large cavernous comfortable lounge area. Free coffee is provided in another small salon room. There is an adequately sized outside pool (not heated we believe) and very pleasant seating areas in the gardens. The winters can be cold but the hotel provides good heating and the summers invariably very warm but not as hot as the coast due to its elevation. Bedrooms are large and well furnished and appointed with bathrooms provided with a good range of toiletries. On the 2 occasions we have stayed there has never been any problem with the adequacy of plenty of hot water. Certainly we will return again, it is "one of our little gems" in this part of Spain. Surprisingly it only has a 3 star rating and as seasoned travellers would rate it is probably one of the best 3 star hotels in which we have stayed. Johnie London

Room Tip: Rooms on the 1st floor if possible.

A lovely quirky hotel - on the other side of the main road from the village of Bocairent. Nice touches inside as previous reviewers have said - old pictures of trains etc. Good sized room with oil filled radiator making it plenty warm enough. The weather was cold and it was lovely to sit by the log fire in the lofty lounge before going into the dining room and eating a tasty and imaginative meal. Breakfast was superb as well. The grounds and the swimming pool looked inviting but not in 5 degree temperatures- in fact too cold the following day to look round the village.Staff very pleasant and unobtrusive - and gave a warm welcome - and a small present of soap when we filled in a questionnaire on leaving. Well worth staying here for the peace and quiet of the place and the lovely surroundings.

This is a small hotel but with several pleasant areas for sitting outside and a comfortable lounge bar. The restaurant is attractive and the food very good - some quite original dishes and steaks served on hot stones to cook to your own liking. Breakfast also very good. Staff attentive and friendly. Our room was fresh and modern. What was Bocairent's railway station has been incorporated, hence the name, and the overall development is quite stylish.
The centre of Bocairent is about a 15 minute walk and worth a day's browsing. If you drive from the hotel it is best to park just on the other side of the bridge to avoid narrow streets further in.

I will echo all the other reviewers who have called L'Estacio "charming and a gem", as it is and more. Don't let this review put off those travelling without children, as it a wonderful little hotel for a romantic getaway as many of the Spainish couples will testify too. But for us, travelling with two small children (1 and 3 years old), the hotel staff could not have been more helpful and thoughtful. Extra towels were provided freely, as was help in arranging the sleeping arrangements in our little suite which was located in the old station building. The cleaning staff happily worked around the nap schedules of my younger child, something you often don't get in small hotels (and even at the larger chains). But the most helpful part of our stay was how the Paco and Mats arranged for small dinners for my children, who unlike many of the Spanish children we saw, were unable to stay awake till 20.30 for when the restaurant opened. All in all they made our stay a very special and plesent one. The only small niggle was the lack of tea or coffee making facilities in the room, but then the cafe/bar staff were fabulous in catering for that. They thoughtfully set up our table with highchairs each morning without being asked. We found the food and wine excellant and very generous, and the restaurant was very lively with locals on the weekend. As for Bocairent, we wish we could have explored more but the heat beat us back, and the caves are definitely not for little ones, and the fiesta only started at 23.00, so a no-go for us. But great countryside and definitely a place to explore in the cooler weather of late spring and early summer. Thank you again Paco and Mats for such a wonderful stay.

This is an individual hotel converted and extended from the town's old railway station. A lot of though has gone into the interiors and layout resulting in a very comfortable, interesting and relaxing place to stay. There are pictures of the old station in the public places and one of the old trains which used to use the station and displays of old luggage. The outside areas are nice, comprising a grassed and very private swimming pool area, woods and paths and an courtyard on the old platform enclosed by the 3 sides of the building.
Our bedroom was delightful and well furnished, the bathroom good and very functional.
The dining areas are extensive, comprising an indoor space, a conservatory and an outdoor area. We ate outside on a lovely evening. The menu is very interesting and there were several 'meal' options. We chose the one with a selection of 3 starters. All of these were amazing and boded well for the next two courses. However the main courses were very sub standard and the dessert not at all special. After the hype of the starters we expected better from the chef. Perhaps he only likes doing the starters!
There is no secure parking, but adequate parking in the driveway.
We would stay there again.
