We stayed for one night unfortunaly at this hotel, it was not enough. Surely we have to visit again both the hotel and the town of Peniscola. It is to much to see for only one day stay. The beach is bautiful, and the old town nice to visit and the castell is somthing you can not miss visiting, if you have a change to come to Peniscola. And now we are just looking forward to come again.

Room Tip: We had a room on the third floor, nice room. But it would have been nicer to see more of the beach and the castell view.

Good Afternoon Kristjan,

Thank you very much for taking time to write about the Hotel RH Portocristo.

As you say one day is not enough to explore this beautiful area of Spain. Very pleased you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back again in the near future,

stayed here again on our way through spain, enjoyed our stay last time enough to choose this hotel again.. the place is spotlessly clean and still looks as new as it did on our last visit, staff are very helpful and even gave us the same room which we stayed in last year, room 308 (i think), it is one of four that have a massive panoramic window, which looks directly over the bay and towards the castle, a stunning view to wake up to. we chose the half board option, and was surprised to find that the evening meal was actually a voucher for evening meal in a resturant up the road, however was very nice and really we ended up with the best of both worlds, the convenience of booking half board and also going out to eat at a local resturant. the small spa is also very good, and towels are supplied by reception, breakfast was quite sufficient,

The only negative, there seems to be a car body repair shop that has opened up directly next door and we could smell the solvents in the air, and hear the machinery until 8pm ish if we had wanted to sit around the pool or had one of the rooms that faced the workshops directly this would have been a problem. the hotel is aware of the situation and we hope something will be done about it.

would we return most deffinately.,

Good Morning Katie,

Thank you for reviewing the Hotel RH Portocristo and for choosing to stay in an additional RH Hotel after your stay in Benidorm.

We are delighted that you enjoy our brand and yes the rooms that overlook the Castle are fantastic, as is the location of the hotel.

We have noted your points on the shop next door and are looking into this.

We look forward to a future visit and thank you for taking time to share your opinion on Tripadvisor.

Kindest Regards

Celia – Manager

Stayed Christmas Eve 2012

Fantastic. Lovely warm welcome.

Hotel right across from beach and short beach walk around to castle. Loved exploring the cobblestone streets.

2 adults and 2 children given room with 2 double beds. Plenty of room. Safe in room. Small balcony with “semi” beach views.

Lovely bathroom / shower with plenty of toiletries supplied!

We enjoyed the ambience of this town even though it was ‘off’ season. Yes a lot of restaurants / shops closed for the season but still enough open so yo have plenty of choice.

We parked for free on the street however in summer am not sure if this would always be possible. A carpark ‘out the back’ of the hotel was available for a small charge. (I think 6 Euro?)

Hotel had free wi-fi.

Breakfast was delicious and a great way to start our Christmas day!

Would loved to have stayed here for more than one night!

We enjoyed just one nihgt and would be very happy to have had another night, as we had littel chance to see much of the town. We arrived from Tarragona and had spent most of the day in the Delta d L'ebre area before arriving. tea time. Originally we ahd planned an earlier arrival and it was a shame not to enjoy the lovely pool.
We did partake of a refreshing jug of Agua de valencia and would totally recommend this as a pick me up after a sight seeing day.
Got a great deal on the rooms, including breakfast - which had plenty of choice fresh fruit and decent coffee. They also offered us a knock down rate on the buffet (8E) and it has to be said if I was there again I might well take up this option as the meal in town was not the best.
Staff friendly and welcoming and room facilities as expected for a good 3 star..Everything clean and new
Deserves to be well rated here and sure we ll be back sometime.

Peniscola is touristy but felt nice and family orientated and we liked the promenade.

Later found out there was a bar on the 4th floor and this might well have been worth a look

Room Tip: At this time of year up to June you can park for free on the main road. Higher rooms quieter.

A really nice mid size hotel. Big enough to have all the facilties you'd want like a nice pool and fitness suite as well as excellent dining facilities. Small enough to feel personal and have really attentive staff (the breakfast team never stopped tidying and refilling the buffets). Great location on the seafront near the old town

Room Tip: Our room (203) was on west side overlooking pool and with view of castle. East side looks into another hotel so probably not so good.
