“Prefect relaxing holiday in the sun”

! stayed in this villa with my wife, 16 year old daughter and her friend.
The villa has good quality furnishings and soft furnishing making for a comfortable stay. The kitchen area is also very well equipped for all your catering needs. The private pool and outside living area offers plenty of sun / shade at all times of the day perfect for an August holiday.
the villa owner made renting this property very easy, they were very communicative throughout giving good clear directions to villa, excellent welcome pack, and most importantly swift return of security deposit!
I would recommend this villa to our friends and family and would love to return here again in future years. All in all we had a great relaxing holiday!

“Perfect Peace”
Reviewed August 20, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

From start to finish this rental has been stress free. The villa is situated in a very quiet road and has lovely views. In terms of equipment and cleanliness it was faultless. I travelled with my husband and our disabled foster son and Helen provided us with comprehensive information regarding the area and villa. We were greeted by Barbara who is a gem.
The villa benefits from a private pool which is maintained to an extremely high standard and there is a wonderful Gazebo that provides welcome shade of the heat of the midday sun.
Each afternoon a lovely breeze comes up (reading other comments this seems to a regular feature) which makes soaking up the sun even more enjoyable.
We will definitely visit again and I can honestly say this is one of the best villas we have stayed in

“Superb villa, perfect for relaxing hoilday.”
Reviewed July 5, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Our 4th year in the villa and already provisionally booked it for next year. It ticks all our boxes for a superbly relaxing holiday in the Spanish sunshine.
Lovely location within easy reach of main town and shops or a nice ride out into the country for a real feel of Spanish life. Would recommend this villa to any couple that like to spend quality time with each other in a totally peaceful environment.

“A perfect getaway with everything you need for an enjoyable and relaxing holiday”
Reviewed May 1, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

Staying at Villa Serena was the perfect escape. This beautiful villa is exactly what we expected and is very well decorated and well kept. It's fully equipped from towels to utensils to a very comfy bed & sofa. It had everything we needed to make us feel right at home! The mazarron country club is peaceful and has stunning views of the mountains and sunset so it's a perfect location. They have a bar/restaurant on site where you can have fresh bread in the mornings, a selection of tapas and lots of nice dishes to choose from for lunch/dinner of you don't feel like venturing out. Their food and sandwiches are big portions and top quality. We ate there a few times and used wifi free of charge on a daily basis. We loved having our own pool and BBQ which we took full advantage of - this was one of our highlights, especially when the garden is so nice whether out in the sun or in the evenings. Although my partner and I didn't drive, Helen was extremely helpful and even researched for us on how to get to the villa from Alicante Airport, which really helped us budget and work out timescales before we even got there. She also had information packs with lots of suggestions on where to go, places to eat and who to contact for transport. We did the walk to the hot springs and the trek was enjoyable. The nearest supermarket was a very short distance away and only cost 15€ one way by taxi. As it has everything, you only really need to go once at the start of the holiday. Jane was our 'meet & greet' neighbour there who was filling in for Barbara. She was very welcoming and showed us around the living area, kitchen and how to open the shutters and put the boiler on. We made a couple of trips to the marina in Puerto de Mazarron which cost approx 22€ one way. There's plenty of shops and restaurants, as well as a British owned bar, which is approximately a 30 minute walk along the beach named the New Royal Bar & Restaurant. They do traditional British food, sky sports (for footie fans) and a pool table. It was a great atmosphere and the manager & staff were really friendly and welcoming so would recommend going there for anyone looking for a bit of British spirit. All in all, my partner and I had a wonderful first holiday there together and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay - we certainly look forward to returning and would recommend this villa to everyone.

“Felt like our very own Place in the Sun - FABULOUS!”
Reviewed October 17, 2012 for a stay in September 2012

Had two lovely relaxing weeks staying at Villa Serena on the Mazarron Country Club - about 15 minute drive from Puerto de Mazarron. We knew the area as we had stayed in La Azohia last year but stayed here - slightly inland - on recommendation from a colleague who is a regular visitor to the Villa.
We LOVED it! The swimming pool for us was definitely the highlight - it just felt so luxurious to have our very own pool - we've been spoiled and will be wanting that wherever we go now!
In addition, the owners seem to have really thought of everything so it did feel like a real "home from home" and I can't think of anything that we said we needed that wasn't there.
The key handover was easy - Barbara lives close by and was there in minutes to let us in and show us the basics of the place. We didn't see her again until the last day but we knew she wasn't too far away if we had any problem.
There isn't much around the Club so if you like to explore towns/villages nearby then you definitely need to get in the car. There is a bar/restaurant on site. We didn't try it at first expecting prices to be quite high but after a couple of days and the need for some wi-fi, we decided to give it a go and it was fine - really good bar prices (we didn't eat there - making the most of the BBQ and lovely seating area back at our Villa!) but it seemed to be a popular place for an early evening drink and to enjoy the last bit of sunshine.
For shopping - we either went to Camposol - 2 junctions up the motorway which has most things we needed. Alternatively, we drove the other way and back towards Puerto de Mazarron where there are more supermarkets and the huge fresh fruit & veg (and lots more!) market on Sundays.
No need to pack any towels - there are plenty provided - for lying on the lovely sunbeds round the pool and also beach towels - with another set for our second week.
There's a great area outside the back door with a washing machine (with a 30 min programme) so that was ideal just to give things a quick wash halfway through the holiday if you needed to. It soon dries in the warm sunshine and the wind that kicks up in the afternoons.
The porch area of the Villa has been fitted with glass sliding doors to make a conservatory area. I hadn't really noticed this in the description before we went but it's a great addition - we sometimes sat in there later on in the evenings if it went a bit chilly. Good to have that option.
One negative to mention is the double bed which had definitely seen better days. I didn't bother saying anything to Barbara but I did email Helen when we got home as I felt she would want to know if there was something amiss, given the high standards she maintains. As it happened, she was visiting the Villa just after we left, she said Barbara had mentioned it to her (I guess from previous guests' feedback) and a new bed was already on order for delivery the very next week - problem solved!
Definitely recommended for a relaxing, chill out holiday..............
