We decided to give this restaurant a try after seeing it while driving by on previous occasions. We made a reservation for dinner on a weekend evening. The restaurant is very busy and we still had to wait quite a bit before being seated. The dining room is relatively small and tables are fairly close together. The noise level also got a little high when all the tables were full. As the evening went on, it did get a bit quieter as some tables emptied out.
Our server was professional and the food was very good. We both ordered the salmon but our server returned and reported that only one remained. I had the Mediterranean Dinner instead. Both were excellent. There is also a small bar. Beers are available for dinner but only by the bottle. We shared a mint chocolate chip ice cream pie for dessert - wonderful!
All in all, a nice local restaurant with good food and excellent service.

This is the best restaurant in Frederick. I have been dining here for years and have never had a bad meal. My favorite is the chicken livers, but the reuben sandwiches, the oysters, the meat loaf, the fish and the roast duckling special are also wonderful! The specials change with the season, and they are always great! All of the side dishes that come with the meals are authentic - you won't find instant mashed potatoes here! They are also flexible enough to let you substitute or change your side dish if you prefer something other than what comes with the meal. The side dishes are also included in the price of the entree instead of being a la carte. The rolls, muffins, and desserts are all homemade and are not brought in bulk from Costco! The coffee is also very fresh, full-bodied, hot and delicious! All the soups are homemade and are very tasty. Back to the homemade desserts - there is a wide variety of pies, cakes, and sundaes - they even have a baked Alaska on the dessert menu! The portions of everything, from the entrees to the desserts are also generous and filling. The inside of the restaurant is very cozy and charming with a very nice fireplace in the foyer/bar area. The staff are very polite, friendly, attentive and accomodating. The owner is also in the dining room working hard and talking to patrons to make sure they are comfortable and that everything is to their liking. He will also bake homemade cakes for special occasions if you call ahead and order it. You just can't beat that! The prices here are also very reasonable. If you are looking for a great restaurant with great food and reasonable prices, Gladchuks is for you!

Three friends ordered three different entrees - grilled/mable glazed salmon, pot roast, and fried liver - all left satisfied and happy. The restaurant is free-standing an older building. The dining room is not large, but has an ample number of tables. Wait staff are dressed in traditional German/Bavarian uniforms. Beverages arrive promptly with a hot yeast roll and cranberry muffin. Entrees are reminiscent of "Sunday after church" comfort food. Good quality ingredients, attentive waitress. Adequate parking too.

I drove by the Restaurant so many times and always wanted to step in for lunch or dinner. Today I met with my friends (from Hagerstown and Waynesboro/PA) at the Gladchuk Brothers Restaurant on West Patrick St in Frederick/MD for lunch to celebrate our little Christmas party. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. This was for sure not the last time I visited this restaurant!!
