My wife and I were in Frederick to dine at volt and were strolling along the creek when we came upon The Wine Kitchen. I suggested that we get a glass of wine and went in. They have a nice sitting area with a sofa and chairs, away from the bar, in front of a fireplace. We each had a flight of three wines, themed, along with some killer curried cashews and nicely prepared tempura pickles. The atmosphere and decor were very inviting and we thoroughly enjoyed the wine. I look forward to another opportunity to perhaps try the dinner menu in addition to the fine wines.

We just had a terrific lunch! Server was great giving us lots of options. The carrot/coconut soup was really good and we all had fish (three fish/chips and one Char). The beet salad was also
wonderful.

Wine Kitchen is consistently very good to excellent for service and excellent for food. Lots of local and organic choices and in good weather the option to dine al fresco. Portions are modest but very well prepared and sufficient for those who focus more on quality than a super sized meal. Prices reflect quality and fresh local ingredients. Wine selection is excellent with some moderately priced options. A definite regular in the downtown Frederick top flight restaurant circuit. On par with Tasting Room and to me preferable to Volt. It's great to have so many choices in downtown Frederick these days!

Even before you place your order for dinner, you have the wonderful opportunity to select a flight of wines to accompany it...............oh, yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just the way to start a great evening at this restaurant.... and I guarantee that you WILL have just that!

The meals are wonderful & well-priced, as are the flights of wines. More offerings of wine flights than we have ever seen in one restaurant!

For our meals, we selected a 24 Hour-Glazed Beef Short Rib, a Grilled Swordfish, a Long Island Duck with Huckleberries (Yes, when was the last time that you saw huckleberries anywhere on the menu???), and a Petite Filet Mignon w/ Pistachio Foie Gras Butter--------to die for!!!! All members of our party were extremely happy with their meals.

Kudos to Laura, our server. She was very helpful when needed and disappeared when not. We were also lucky to have John, one of the two managers of The Wine Kitchen, stop by our table.

One bit of a down note..........because of the hardwood flooring and open areas, this is not a quiet restaurant. Noise could affect your experience here, but my advice would be to try to go beyond it. If you do, I am sure that you will have a VERY enjoyable experience.

Four of us had dinner here on a recent visit to Frederick, and we all left happy! The contemporary but casual atmosphere, with views to the kitchen area, adds to the happy vibe here. The waitress was really friendly and gave us just the right amount of attention. We each chose a different wine flight to go with our meals - swordfish, duck with lingonberrries, a filet mignon and a beef short rib. Everyone declared their entrees delicious! Three of us had perfectly prepared fresh green beans as our veggie. I like the fact that the beef is locally raised and hormone-free.
Prices are not bad for the high quality and the quantity of the excellent food and wine. If we get back to Frederick, we'll return here for sure.
