“Very informative”
Reviewed November 30, 2011

This is a fascinating place to take children eight years old and older. Coupled with visits to the Monocacy Battlefield Museum, and the battlesfields and visitors centers at Antitietam and Gettysburg (each about 25-30 miles away from downtown Frederick), this makes a great 2-day Civil War experience for all ages.

“THIS MUSEUM IS SELF GUIDED AND FAMILY FRIENDLY”
Reviewed November 27, 2011

The Volunteer Guides were helpful and friendly. The information gained at this museum is well worth the price of admission. There are admission discounts for seniors, students, and AAA members.

Two things I remembered from this museum are, the invention of triage areas to treat wounded patients, and the invention of horse-drawn ambulances to carry off the wounded.

“Good, just maybe not for young ones.”
Reviewed November 24, 2011

Very informative, but not great for kids, especially little ones. We took 3-9 year olds and they got bored easily. The parents couldn't take advantage of all the info because they kids were getting antsy.
