“Fantastic, Fun, Feminine”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 16, 2013

Nothing tops the Serenity Tea Room for a totally wonderful feminine time for ages 7+. The food is to die for with old time charm. Blanche is just as charming as everyone says. Having been to tearooms in Europe to the U.S. Ritz Carltons, I can say definitively that you won't beat this experience even at a higher price. Yes, the shop being a remodeled older house, is a little worn . That is part of the ambiance of the area. Prices are what you would expect for this type of specialty. For a special girlie occasion, this is the place to go in an area that has a plethora of choices. I just wish it was feasible for this tearoom to offer spontaneous visits. I understand how that is cost prohibitive for supplies and maintaining quality at this pont. Perhaps as the reputation grows, she can accommodate in the future. I will keep hoping.

“Tasty, but too MUCH service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2012

Every tidbit was very tasty and fresh. The variety was very good. I wished they had served genuine clotted cream, but the stand-in was fine. Mainly, I want to encourage the proprietor but offer one suggestion. Don't overwhelm your guests. Too much information was offered in the "briefing" about the menu. Just rewrite the menu please so people understand that there are many choices. Keep up the good work.

“Please "do" tea in Frederick, MD at Serenity”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 15, 2012

I had never had a formal tea before. My friend and I chose this tea hosue to celebrate knowing each other 50 years. We felt coddled and taken care of the entire time. This tea house had a full meu of different types of tea. You get endless pots of hot tea (or iced tea)--and each pot can be a different tea. I had Earl Grey Cream (highly recommend Earl Grey lovers to try this tea). Tea is served in real china cups (mismatched and adorable) and the food is served on a tiered dessert server. We ordered the regular tea ($22 each) and had more than enough food. The scones are amazing--we had apple cinnamons scones with clotted cream (all made in house). We had delicious tea sandwiches, chocolate covered strawberries and a variety of desserts. A warning tot he men out there--the clientele is overwhelmingly female! For a "not to be believed" experience--make reservations for tea at Serenity--then buy some scones and tea to take home!

“Great selection of teas, delicious food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

I took my mom here for an traditional afternoon tea. The selection of teas was impressive. The food was great! There was enough to make you full without being stuffed. The sandwiches were delicate and delicious. The baked goods were incredible! Loved the scones! They were warm and soft and flavorful. I tried the pineapple curd topping. That was perfect! Very subtle flavor that didn't overpower the flavor of the baked goods. The service was also outstanding. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend this tearoom.
