I really enjoyed my visit here. This was a business lunch on a Sunday (ugh!) and when we walked in I noticed two things -- the place was packed and they had live music. The wait was about an hour, unless you wanted to sit at one of the high-tops in the bar. Great choice! Oh, the music? Really good trio playing a variety of jazz ... enjoyable.
Our server was Heather and she was great. Her service was attentive and never seemed overbearing at all. It just seemed like she anticipated things ... felt like our drinks were on an endless stream. We asked her what she recommended and she was honest with us. Told us what to avoid and what she recommended. She was spot on with her recommendations.
First, whatever you do ... order the pastrami sandwich. Unbelievable! Really well done and very tasty. I love Monte Cristo sandwiches and, as hard to find as they come, Firestone's was excellent. A little different approach, but so much lighter and very enjoyable! The food here seemed to be well prepared, very visually appealing, and very satisfying.
Second, the decor is pretty interesting. Very ... comfortable. I definitely see this place as a spot that could be very romantic and one that could appeal to folks of all ages.
Finally, I liked this place and will be going back when I return to town. It really was that good.
