We stayed in quite a few Paradores and the one in Ribadeo isn't one of the best ones. On arrival, we waited some time in reception for someone to check us in. The person who did show up was off-hand and not very welcoming. We found our room, which was nice with a glazed balcony overlooking the estuary and port. The hotel photos of the view are a bit selective. The area just in front of the hotel is a working port - during our stay, 2 cranes were unloading logs from trucks from 8am to 8pm, another was loading a ship from other lorries. All very interesting to watch, but not very peaceful. Didn't eat dinner in the restaurant, breakfast was of a good standard. Hotel has parking, which is across the road about 100m away from reception.

A modern Parador, rather bland inside in a featureless town. There is an area to the right of the Parador as you come out, with a park and bars and cafes, which is quite nice. The terrace, bar and restaurant all face the harbour and a pretty little town on the opposite bank.Staff are polite and friendly and the rooms very clean. We had an 'enclosed' balcony which caught the afternoon sun..........lovely! No safe in the room, which is a bit of a disadvantage. My bugbear now, with Paradores, the food. We were on an inclusive deal for dinner and breakfast. On this particular night we had a bowl of soup, very nice. The main course was 'a veal chop' with which we managed to get chips. No vegetables to speak of are normally served but we had 'peppers' which amounted to about half a red pepper cut in two. We dedcided not to have a dessert. The price for that meal was E33! Even with a dessert, I don't think so!
