“Great little restaurant”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

Enjoyed a really good meal here with local dishes being the speciality. Menus in English are available, which is a great help since the wonderfully friendly staff do not speak it. Would recommend highly.

“BUTTER MEAT”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

We were enjoying a marvelous sunset in the delicious town of Hervás and we dropped at El Almirez recommended by my Tripadvisor and a villager and it was an unforgettable dinner: I will always remember the taste and the juiciness of this beef and the beauty of the desserts (sweet child of mine was happy with the waitress). Menu is adapted to the tasty seasonal products of the area so I´ll come back asap.

“Great regional food”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

Very good restaurant with regional food to a high standard.
Recommended local wines were excellent and although the English spoken was limited there was an English menu and very helpful owner.
A wonderful Spanish meal and would highly recommend.

“Best restaurant of Hervás”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

The 3-course menu of Restaurante El Almirez is the perfect deal for people who like to taste various flavors during a meal, without overeating themselves. The price is 20 Euros, including bread and wine or water. Each course consists of 4 different dishes to choose from, which can also be enjoyed à la carte. The portions are a bit smaller than á la carte, but just as tasty and only half the price. We returned 3 times in one week and enjoyed a great number of very tasty, creative traditional dishes like carpaccio de ternera, esparragos verdes, zorongollo, solomillo de ternera, milhoja de solomillo de iberico, carrillera de iberico, mousse de yogurt con frutos rojos, and a very special sorbete de violetas. We have been eating in two other top-3 Hervás restaurants, but liked El Almirez best.

“I can only say good things about this amazing place”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

This was a surprise on a week day evening last month. I went to Hervas for a quick bite but instead I had one of the best meals ever, something to remember!
We were the only 2 people that evening as it was a week day in low season, so we had all the lovely owners & chef to ourselves! We followed their reccomendations on what to order and well, the food was high standart, tipical Extremadura dishes with a modern touch. The best was the croquettes made out of warm chocolate sauce mix with orange! Yum!
The wines were excellent, a white wine called Secreto from Badajoz and to finish with a nice Pedro Ximenez.
They have a nice terrace outside for the summer and then place inside is quite nice too. Clean and charming.
Thank you again for the nice evening and for sure, you will see us back!
