It is a small museum but has many interesting exhibits. We enjoyed the trains and the dated nail collection

An excellent railroad museum! Outside are examples of local railroad engines, cabooses, and service vehicles (BNSF and Union Pacific). You can climb on them a little bit and look inside some of them.

Inside are several rooms full of local history: maps, tools, equipment, photographs, and memorabilia from days gone past. And the largest collection of "date nails" I have ever seen (having seen precisely one other collection in Alaska...) -- thousands from all around the country. Free admission, but you can leave a donation or buy something from the gift shop to help them along.

Back outside, you've also got the Barstow Harvey House and station, and several lines of active passenger and freight track. A rather remarkable confluence of railroading experience is available on this spot!

This small museum is pretty cool. It has a lot of interesting artifacts and a small gift shop. A must see especially if you are a train enthusiast.

Even though it;'s a "tourist trap" it is still a nice place to visit. Fair selection of different foods (all fast food types), various souvenir shops, and very unique architecture with the pullman cars, etc.

We went to the train museum. The inside was closed but we did get to look at the many engines sitting on the property. We were surprised that there are no signs explaining how old the engines are or what their special use might have been. It was somewhat disappointing that they had no information about them, just trains. But we did get some fun pictures anyway.
