This hotel was clean, and fun to stay at, due to the overall throwback look to it, including old antique automobiles parked permanently outside. It's nearly 100 years old, according to the current owners, who have operated it for the last 36 years! They are trying to keep it open, while all old things around them, such as a drive-in theater, have been reclaimed. Lots of gifts and memorabilia from previous guests line the walls of the small office. Ask to see the owners' guest sign-in books, filled with comments and donated items from previous guests, from all over the world. Unfortunately, there were a few things lacking in our room, such as shampoo, hair dryer, and a box of tissues. The A/C, TV, and wifi worked flawlessly. King bed was comfortable. A wonderful Mexican American restaurant if only a short walk up the hill to the west. The only reason I haven't given this motel 4 stars is that it is not meant to be anything than a clean, quaint, basic place to stay. It succeeds at that.

Room tip: Don't plan on getting a 'round bed' which this motel advertises. They are usually booked months in advance.

This is an iconic Route 66 ma & pa type motel located right along our Mother Road. You will not find a nicer host along the California route. The motel itself is a huge phtoographic opportunity. Food is within easy driving distance.

Staff was very friendly and helpful Has great stories about folk who visit regularly. Environment kitschy. Love the old cars. Very clean, comfy in a 1950s way. It would be nice to have access to coffee either in the room or a common area. But there is a great donut and coffee shop down the street. Another throw-back to the 50s.

Stayed here for one night on last leg of Route 66. The forecourt has a lot of classic cars and Route 66 memorabilia. The rooms are clean and tidy, good value for money. Round beds are available too, if you like that sort of thing.
