The hotel is a renovated 16 th century palace with grand public areas. The entrance hall is huge and leads to a lovely atrium where breakfast and refreshments are served. The dining room looks fine but was pretty empty on both nights we stayed. Breakfast comes in two versions , an Express variety at 7euros and an extended version. Makes a change from those expensive breakfasts you usually get. The room was really spacious with a big bath cum shower. We didn't think much of the colour scheme but then you can't have everything.
The staff were really helpful in finding us a place where we could watch the European Cup Final.
They have their own parking area next door , which does need to be reserved ahead of time

We found exactly what we were looking for: calm, peace and relax in a quiet environment.

The hotel combines perfectly the magnificent look of a quite well refurbished renacentist palace with 21st century standards.

Very nice breakfast served in the palace yard -covered with a glass roof that brings a lot of light despite the fact it was a rainy day-. We took the standard breakfast wih a very reasonable price of 6€, including coffee, fresh orange juice, home made yogourt, bread, ham, cheese and croissant among other stuff..

We didn´t go to the restaurant, but we took a look to the menu and we concluded it deserves another visit.

In summary, a very nice weekend in a wonderful medieval town in northern Extremadura.

Stayed hehre with my wife for 2 nights. This is a wonderful hotel beautifully and sympathetically restored in a way which keeps it authentic. The rooms are huge and very comfortable: ours had the original massive stone open fireplace. Our bathroom was bigger than many hotel rooms I have stayed in in London. The restaurant is excellent. The chef is very talented and the service was of the highest standard.

A room with a view?
Yes of the cathedral!
We wanted to visit the cathedral but I refuse to add to the wealth of the Roman Catholic church by paying for praying.

A room with a pool?
Almost!
The biggest bathtub I have ever seen.
Mark Spitz was doing laps.
Loved it!
Loved in it!
Nothing brings a couple together more than communcal bathing.

Room Tip: Book a suite - it is worth it! You are in a palace after all!

Well priced, large and comfortable. We only stayed for one night and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Huge bath and bed. Sights and restaurants only a short walk away. Call beforehand for directions if you are driving and check to see if you can have a space for parking your car. Well worth staying.

Room Tip: We had a room with a sky light rather than a window. This didn't bother us in the least. If you think it may bother you then perhaps ask at check-in or request when booking your preference.
