“LOVE this place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 17, 2012

This cafe offers the best and freshest food in town! You order at the counter and sit at one of the "store's" tables to eat. The menu varies from week to week and I visit there frequently, often taking friends and family. It's great for breakfast, too! Their bakery items are fabulous and you can even order and take home dinner.

“France in Concord”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2012

This is a great place. The croissants are perfect, so are many of the pastries. They do all sorts of french inspired and gourmet things, quality is in everything, a nice community, a great atmosphere, a very pretty dining area, a super place to have a lunch with a chat and some relaxation, you'll feel you're in a very civilized part of the world - and I did I say the folks there are quite nice too.

“Delicious salad plates, sandwiches, hot entrees”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2012

This cafe on Thoreau Street near the train station is one of very few really good restaurant choices in Concord. I have been for lunch many times and it is always busy. It's best to get there by 11:30-45am if you can, or go for lunch later. I once met a friend for dinner at 6:00pm and it was not busy like lunch and the restaurant closes at 7:00pm most nights.

You go to the counter, order, pick up and pay for your meal. Service is prompt as the servers ask what you want and then move you to the cashier to pay and pick up your order. You take your plate, pick up utensils and napkins, and sit in the front cafe, or a side room with colored Provencal tablecloths. The three-salad plate allows you to choose from an array of delicious salads like curried chicken, tuna salad, beet salad, roasted vegetables, green bean salad, etc. My son got a tuna sandwich made to order on a baguette and loved it. The chocolate croissants are great as are the palmier pastries. There is a list of hot entrees on a chalkboard and I have tried their beef bourguignon and it is delicious. When I eat here I always feel I am eating healthy. The meals are tasty and light...it's no wonder La Provence is the success it is in Concord.

“fancy desserts, good sandwiches, ok entrees and salads”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2012

Back room is restaurant, front serve yourself cafe, but there are no reservations, so you can't count on the restaurant part or on room in the front. No printed menu. Quiches, entrees, salads are nothing special, though there are a number of vegetarian choices. Sandwiches best choice; desserts various and elegant--choose from the dessert case.
