Our relatives living in the area suggested we eat at The Colonial Inn. They said the food was good and the location great. They weren't wrong! We loved dining in the historical, old inn that was right in the center of Concord. I had the salad with strawberries and nuts....the dressing was outstanding; and then followed it up with my very first lobster sliders. What a treat! They were loaded with very fresh lobster meat (and I mean loaded). Someone in our party had the hamburger which looked terrific - there wasn't anything left of it. Our server was wonderful...attentive and has a good tableside manner.

We stumbled upon this place while touring around Concord. What a perfect place to enjoy a historical ambiance in a historic town! We had excellent mac and cheese at our table as well as a turkey and apple sandwich. Also enjoyed the olives and nuts-- a good snack. We ate on the deck and relaxed on a warm day in September. If we return to Concord, we will return to the Colonial.

If you love old-timey Americana, stopping by the Colonial Inn for a drink can be enjoyable. Just eat somewhere else. Beautiful old details, uneven floors, low ceilings-- very quaint and fun. The trouble is that the food gets all sorts of build-up, is quite expensive, and just doesn't make it. I had a tasteless salmon burger. Another person in our party got a shrimp cocktail-- you got to choose how many shrimp you wanted. Since they were $4 apiece, the lady ordered two, thinking they'd be gargantuan. Nope. Supermarket mediums.
The restaurant seems to be trying to get on the great chef bandwagon. There are some entrees that sounded interesting, but the quality is pretty uneven. Good sweet potato fries, but altogether a bit disappointing.
Also a lot of salesmanship from the server, which, given the results, made it worse.

I am so happy this place stays through the years.
Such a lovely quaint setting
I particularly enjoy sitting on the porch.
The fish is fresh and cooked with inspiration.
The fried plantains were to die for.
Our server was very attentive.
