The Colonial Inn was here on the day that the shot was fired that was heard round the world. Think on that as you go into this lovely, well maintained property.
Stop in the lobby and look at the Doolittle Prints, which are the first artistic rendering of the events of April 19, 1775.
Then take yourself into the restaurant for a very nice breakfast, lunch or dinner. It will be a nice beginning or ending to your day in Concord. I've never stayed in a room here, but if the rooms are as nice as the rest of the place, you will not be disappointed.

I have been a patron of the restaurant at the Colonial Inn, in Concord Mass, for quite some time now.
Walking into the building is like stepping back in time.
The people doing the seating are most gracious and honestly happy to see you!
Great way to start off!
The dining area reeks of old world charm.

It is the kind of place where one would bring a special date or where you would take your wife/husband for a quiet delicious meal.
There ARE families with children, and they seem to always be happy being there.

The Mussels appetizer with curry & coconut is out of this world.
We have ordered different entrees each time we go there, and EACH TIME, have found it delicious and expertly prepared. We've been happy with them all!

The waiters are most attentive...checking back frequently, refilling water glasses, etc.
One can always tell when someone who waits on you smiles artificially because they HAVE TO be nice. Well...the wait staff here is HONESTLY friendly, making suggestions, taking their time before they walk away, talking to you as if you were family.

In closing, my wife and I are anticipating being back there in a week or so.
There have been many restaurants in our travels around the world, where we've "had enough" after 1-2 visits.
We never get tired of this place.
It's THAT nice!!!!

It takes you back in time, as the name suggests, it's a Colonial Inn and I'm sure a few minutemen spent their time at the bar. They have entertainment in the bar area, which is quite good. Or if you prefer a great meal, go to the dining area and make believe you're a patriot in the olden days (-:
Food is good and the prices are reasonable for what you are receiving. The atmosphere is relaxed and makes one wonder, how was it there in the 1700's.

4 of us stopped in for a drink and a snack by the fire. Michelle welcomed us and helped with beer selection. We needed a gluten free snack and Michelle did a great job checking with the chef to ensure that the Butternut Bacon Bisque was a safe choice. It was delicious and Michelle was kind enough to split it so we could share. Fireplace was warm and welcoming and we enjoyed chats with other guests. A lovely way to start our weekend getaway.

We started at another restaurant in town that was very crowded so we wandered into the Concord Inn. There smaller dining room was under renovation so we were seated in the main dining room, which was lovely. Very nicely decorated with the historical charm of the past.
Food was just average for this dining experience. I ordered a salmon burger and my daughter had the pot roast. Nothing exciting about either. The corn bread they start you out with was very good. The maitre d and people at the desk when you enter the inn were not very friendly.
I asked the maitre d in which direction was the Louise May Alcott house, a mile from this location, and he couldn't help me? Go in for tea if you want to check out this establishment.
