“The Shot Heard Round the World was fired here”
Reviewed August 10, 2013

Though this review is being posted in August, we visited six months earlier when the deep snow added to the austerity of the scenery and the tone of gravity of the history made here. This is actually not the original North Bridge, which was a few hundred yards away, but one of a string of successors. The one in place when we visited was built in 1956 using some original drawings, and restored in 2005.

I like the way the National Historic Park has everything laid out and accessible. I enjoyed the whole park. The history is inspiring...

“It Happened Here!”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

This is where our country took its first step toward independence. Very nice grounds and the scenery is awesome! The area is well-done, with a lot of historical information. The monument is very nice and there is a grave site of the first British soldiers that were killed. Must see stop if visiting Concord.

“Pretty setting with history”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

We love going here and taking a walk to the bridge. It's just so pretty and serene. There are lovely gardens and the path to the bridge is very pretty and bucolic. Love the view of the river from the bridge. We have been here on Patriots Day and the reenactment is very interesting. Also a lttle parade afterwards.

“historical”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

A friend of mine and I were visiting all of the Boston-area historical sites in June. We visited here and really enjoyed it. They have a little gift shop and informational historic building, some graves, a garden area with lots of beautifully tended variations of flowers, different levels of views, a walking path. It was raining when we were there, but it was still great to see the place where the first British soldiers were killed in the start of the Revolutionary War which eventually gave us our independence as a nation.
