“Lovely place,warm welcome,excellent meal.”
Reviewed October 16, 2011

We visited this place more than once .We had come across it thanks to the Michelin guide and I must say we have never been disappointed. We had an excellent meal with 4 tapas and a monkfish exquisitely cooked .We followed the host's advice concerning the wine and were served a beautiful but inexpensive white wine .It is the best place we have experimented in the Benicarlo area and I think it is really worth a visit.

“Wonderful. Worth the trip”
Reviewed June 21, 2011

Hidden in a small village, half way between Barcelona and Valencia you can found this small and familiar restaurant, with a realy high level of cuisine, modern, but with respect to the local products, with a very good value for the price.

Don't miss the awesome tapas!

“My favourite restaurant in the World.”
Reviewed November 24, 2009

You are struck upon entering this restaurant that this a calm and relaxed environment, with gorgeous art on the walls and around the rooms. All is so tastefully done, which comes as no surprise when you find out that the owners met at Art School. Philippe (a Frenchman) welcomes you, and you can dine inside (air-conditioned) or on their lovely patio with tables made out of old Micronesian canoes, with a glass top.
The menu is in Catalán, but Philippe will help you through it. The first thing that strikes you is what good value it is: a seven-course meal for 38 Euros, or 9 courses for 48 Euros. You only have to choose one or two main courses, but you could also go à la carte.
But when the dishes start arriving, you find every mouthful to be sensational, even if you would not necessarily have chosen the items yourself. Their home-made foie gras, tartare of smoked sturgeon wrapped in a langoustine carpaccio, paté of Cabrales cheese, melon gazpacho. There scrambled eggs with langoustines and grilled local vegetables, bouillabaisse local style, rice dishes, fantastic home-made lasagnes (esp seafood). My favourite dish is lamb that has been smoked over vine wood, and the slow-cooked for 30 hours. They also have wild partridge, and Angus beef.
The desserts are also unmissable (and I usually skip this course in most restaurants), including their version of a Snickers bar (peanut and caramel ice cream with nougat), liquid Tiramisù, and coffee in 3 forms.
As you can gather, I highly recommend that you make a special effort to visit this marvellous establishment, and I would be very happy discuss it with anyone who is interested.
