We had a magnificent stay in La Corte de Lugas. The hotel manager, Danny, exceeded our expectations as a helpful and warm host. He thoroughly took the time to make sure our stay was great, especially with our one year old daughter. He even gave her her own carton of milk! The layout of the hotel we thought was very interesting - we stayed in the room Aurelio. The facilities were spotless, which we greatly appreciated. We had dinner one night, and it was also excellent. One of our favorite parts of the stay was breakfast, as Danny provided quite a lush assortment of breads, fruits, cereals, cheeses, meats, tortillas, and even cheesecake. We would highly recommend this hotel for anyone, young or old, with or without children. For the price of the room, we felt it was a good deal, as this type of facility would cost much more in America or anywhere else in Europe.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- High above Villaviciosa, the farming hamlet of Lugas is so remote that they have yet to hear what happened to the Spanish Armada. Except at La Corte, a grand stone-and-wood farmstead where the welcome is sharp and frankly Anglophile. Upgraded in baronial style - all beams, open fireplace and four-posters - the family-run spot has warmth, dignity and good food, in equal measure. A cracking base for the Atlantic coast or Picos de Europa mountains. ... more less
