Set high in the old town of Salobreña, this house has recently undergone complete refurbishment and renovation. The result of much hard work is a beautiful home that is full of charm and extremely comfortable.
My wife and I stayed for 6 nights in this lovely home and wanted for nothing. Whilst retaining the charm of an old village house the finish and the level of furnishings/equipment is quite outstanding. Coming in off the street you walk into a kitchen that is complete with all mod-cons. This flows through to a large living area, containing a dining table and chairs and large settee and armchair. All of the furniture is of good quality and is well complimented by various pieces that look as though they have been collected locally by the owners. There is also a pellet burner in the living area which I'm sure would be welcome if staying during the cooler winter months. As it is, there are air conditioning units in the lounge and both bedrooms. These can also be used to heat the rooms.
The bathroom is also on the ground floor and has a modern rainfall-style shower and is well lit for using the mirror etc.
There are 2 bedrooms. The first of which is very big with a king size bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. The second bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. The mattresses are of a good quality and very comfortable.
From the first floor landing a doorway leads up a few very steep steps and out onto the beautiful roof terrace. The terrace is a great size and is equipped with table and chairs plus sun loungers and BBQ. Again, all the furniture is of a very good quality.
The views from the terrace are as good as you'll get in Salobreña. Red rooftops of the village houses, a backdrop of mountains (still snow on the higher peaks) and the sea.
I definitely recommend this house to anyone who enjoys the traditional setting of a typical old Spanish town, but who also wants to do so surrounded by all the comforts of home.
This is not the usual holiday rental; but a second home that is obviously loved and cared for by friendly, helpful owners, Annabel and Jamie, who seem genuinely interested in making your stay an enjoyable experience.
