Great location, only 5 mins from the beach. Room spacious, modern and clean. Hotel staff very friendly. Food was excellent quality with a good choice. Staff constantly bringing out fresh and hot food. Waiter service was efficient and very friendly.

Nice pool area (but I prefer the beach) that is locked until 10.30am so not reserving sun beds with towels.

I am already thinking about a return trip in November.

Only issue in August is parking. We were very lucky as we got a spot right outside the hotel door, but never saw another spot after this. However the hotel does have an underground car park you can pay for if you are stuck. We had planned on this, but didn´t need it. I think we were lucky because we arrive at noon and checked in early. If we did it again we would probably actually aim for slightly earlier as most people seemed to be checking in early.

Hotel does have entertainment if you want, but we did not really rate this very highly. Why not head out to one of the many reasonably priced bars and enjoy some free tapas with your drinks.

We took the tourist train one evening. 4 euros for an hours round trip, just dont sit right behind the engine as the fumes are a bit much.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 days during our tour of Spain. We found this hotel very clean and the staff very friendly. A good sized pool with an animation team to keep kids amazed during the day. We loved the fact that this hotel wasn't full of British holidaymakers but seemed more geared to Spanish holidaymakers. In a perfect location .. Not too far from the beach but away from any noise. Breakfast was good with all tastes catered for. We found the evening meals a bit too much like hotel/tourist food so we chose to eat out after the first night. We would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Room Tip: Perfect hotel for a family holiday

I stayed at this hotel with a friend of mine for 3 nights. We had a car, and it was easy to organise a safe parking space in the closed garage before the trip. The staff was very helpful and at least one of them spoke English well which was very good given our level of Spanish... Our room was comfortable, the buffet breakfast had a great choice, the cocktails available at the bar were tasty, generous and also quite inexpensive. We also enjoyed the pool in the great weather and the relaxed and quiet environment.

A good hotel to stay at, and you might get a good deal too like we did. And not very far from Granada or the Sierra Nevada mountains - a good base.

Room Tip: Our room on the second floor and looking West onto a hill was very quiet

We stayed for 3 nights and used the hotel as a base. There were almost no English speaking guests and mainly catered for Spanish families with kids. There was a nice atmosphere. Kids everywhere even at midnight, kids games and activities all day, cheap bar, friendly service, bad music on stage most nights. Clean and comfortable, friendly. Well-maintained but small swimming pool and easy access to pleasant family (stony) beach of about 5 minutes walking.

Fantastic breakfast - unlimited buffet with hot and cold food cold meats, cheeses, cereal, patisserie, fruits, and drinks, coffee and even Cava if you fancy sparkling wine with your breakfast.

Be warned - the car parking is total chaos in a way that only Southern Europeans can tolerate, double and triple parked cars in the drive, many scratched by others squeezing buy. Luckily we read the reviews and booked and paid for underground parking and had no problems.

I would return.

The Victoria Playa is tucked away from the main distractions of the resort and benefits greatly from its near perfect location. close enough to be close to pretty much all Almunecar has to offer, but not so close as you cannot remove yourself to the sanctuary of the hotel when required.
Our room was perfectly adequate for our 10 day stay, and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. It was kept spotlessly clean by an excellent and very thorough cleaning regime and some fabulous cleaning staff.
The entertainment offered in the hotel is "dated", though mercifully it is generally over by midnight. It was however very popular with the spanish pensioners who form the backbone of the hotels customers.
The evening meals on offer are not the best we have ever had, but 1 review described the meals as basically several versions of chicken. This is not the situation we found. Lots of excellent salads are on offer and each evening meal had a variety of fish, meats, poultry and at least 1 vegatarian option although the buffet (all you can eat) style of service was off putting at first. Breakfast was served in a similar style, and did include bacon, egg and toast (great british breakfast staples) as well as all that you could require for continental or fruit based breakfasts. The bar service is terrific and the waiting staff are keen to do all they can to help.
The pool was small for this size of hotel, but on the whole the spanish didnt really use it and so we found that there was always a suffiency of sunbeds and plenty of room in the pool.
The hotel advertises free Wi-Fi throughout, but this is only really available on the lower floors as the signal strength is poor above the 3rd floor

Room Tip: rooms number ending 01 have larger balconies, and pool side rooms are cooler in the afternoon

I have just stayed 5 days in this hotel and I am quite satisfied. The only real downside was the beds. They were too hard for me and I sufferd a back ache through out the stay, something I normally do not do.

The room was of good size, so was the bathroom. The balcony actually had sea view in the distance. The balcony is also built in a way that makes it possible to keep the dor open all day and night. You do not have to worry about anyone getting in.

The rest of the hotel is quite nice, clean, friendly and efficient. The food in the restaurant was exellent and we also liked the small bar very much.

We could have wised the hotel to be a bit closer to the town centre.
