If being close to the beach and the view is important to you, then this is a great property.
However, we had major issues with the cleaning and maintenance of the house.
We arrived at the house and at first sight, it seemed ok. However, once we started putting our stuff in place we started to see the flaws. The fridge was dirty with some elements broken, the coffee grounds were still in the coffee machine with mold, the corners of all the bedrooms had piles of hair and dust. The toys close to the swimming pool were broken too. The internet wasn't working... We couldn’t find a vacuum cleaner (as described in the instructions)… I reached out to the owner. He mentioned about the other internet connection (that was just a bit better…). The owner replied to my message and offered to send the cleaning crew to the house. At this stage we had cleaned the things and area we would use and we declined the offer. We had a long trip and we were tired.
By the time we went to bed, we discovered that the quilts in the kids bedroom smelled like pee and once we took the cover we could see the stains and it smelled even more. This was the most disgusting thing of all and honestly, unacceptable. We ended up using another one and washing the linnen, but l kept that one as proof and left for the management team to see it for themselves.
I’ve shared the complaints and pictures with the owner, as he said that he never had a problem with the management team in 5 years. Maybe we had bad luck, who knows…, but we didn’t want to have the blame afterwards and/or do it like every thing was perfect, when it wasn’t.
Some bathrooms seemed to recent renovated
Within walking distance to the beach (steep walking)
Broken stuff - toys, kitchen appliance, toilet seat..
Description says king beds —> they were queen beds
Some matrasses were uncomfortable
Personally, I believe the issues with this house can be easily addressed by the owner & management company. However, based on this experience, this is not a place I would return.
We stayed at the villa for two weeks. Everything went as planned and the villa was exactly as described, or actually even better. The owner was very nice and friendly. The villa had everything we needed, the pretty city of Almuñécar was closeby and we made several daytrips to interesting places by car as well. It suited very well for our sporty purposes since we organized homeschooling with training activities for young athletes from Finland. We can absolutely recommend the villa for anyone who wishes to get a stressfree, easy and comfortable stay in Almuñécar.
We were at Casa Felicidad in October for my fathers birthday and we had a great time. The sunsets were amazing and the view was spectacular. The three families loved the large pool and private play court as well as all the toys and games. Dad said it was the best holiday he has ever had as he could watch all his family playing as well as looking at the view. His highlights were seeing 5 dolphins jumping just 50 yards off the shore and seeing an eagle fly past the villa. We loved Casa Felicidad for all these things and it was close to the beach, the restaurants and the bars. Highly recommendable. Almunecar was good fun too with a lovely old town and great shopping. Very Spanish. Great Friday market.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The villa was tremendous with fabulous views, great amenities and large size. The location was also excellent with a short walk into town and a few minutes down to the beach.
If you have a large party or family, I honestly don't think that you can get much better. The weather in November was also fabulous.
We will be booking again for next season!
Booked this fantastic villa to celebrate a 50th birthday. Absolutely stunned by the views on arrival of the bay of Cotobro and The marina in the background. The accommodation is equally as good as the view with superb quality installations and wanting for nothing. The recreation areas are fantastic and very spacious, the pool is great and the covered bbq is the perfect place for evening parties. The only complaint I had was that we only stayed for 1 week. We will certainly return and would have no problem recommending this villa.
14 of us have just returned from a two week holiday in this fantastic villa. It is, without doubt, the best equipped property we have ever stayed at, with stunning views over the bay. There is air conditioning throughout the villa, which was particularly welcome during the recent heat wave and the swimming pool is divine
We visited Almunecar a couple of times but, to be honest, stayed mostly around the villa for BBQ's on the terrace overlooking the beautiful bay. The kids loved the games area and a couple of us indulged in the well equipped gym. Almunecar is a delightful, very Spanish town with some excellent bars and restaurants. This is our third visit to Casa Felicidad and we have never been anything less than delighted. We are all looking forward to returning soon
What a great villa. You walk in and the view is breathtaking. You are so close to the beach you can hear the waves! We were there with two other families and their kids loved the house. The adults did too.The pool is big and the net covered astro turf play court is fantastic. They played football and basketball everyday and we had our own international cricket tournament! Less than 5 minutes walk to the restaurant on the beach and then you are on the promenade full of restaurants. From there it is just 25 minutes to get into the old town. Almunecar is very Spanish and you get free tapas with all alcoholic drinks...just dont ask for a menu or it all stops! The owner was really helpful and so were the managers. We met up with other friends who paid a little less but were stuck up a mountain and needed a taxi to do anything. They have just booked Casa Felicidad for their fathers 70th birthday next year. The photos do not do this villa justice...it is so much better in real life. The only negative is the walk back up the hill is tough with lots of shopping so get a taxi back when shopping.
