First off treat a stay at this establishment as an experience, do not compare it with Hotel accommodation as they are two very different things.
Okay we stayed here for three (3) nights in the middle of a Spanish Summer, 38 degrees outside, 21 degrees inside which is apparently almost the whole year round internal temperature. Comfortable, although a fan would have been a nice addition so as to move the air about inside at bedtime.
This cave is about 50 feet deep and consists of a Kitchenette, Dining Table, Lounge (Sofa and TV) Bathroom with shower and the bedroom part at the very end. The Kitchen is amply provided with essentials and accessories, including a Kettle and most importantly a fridge. Most of the items in the Cave we never got to use as it was in the main just simply a base so as to sleep, which we did really well. The bed base is just like the Flintstones, made from concrete with a mattress on top which although small was perfectly comfortable. The shower was powerful with lots of hot water which again was not used a lot as a cool shower was the order of the day........ I should add at this point that the water is off the mains so is drinkable and perfectly safe.
The Cave is also on mains electricity so all those chargers that you now take away with you will work fine, as did the Cave's Wifi, which surprisingly enabled emails to be picked up whilst still in bed at the rear of the cave.
We have our own pool so the pool was of little interest to us although we did see other families using and enjoying it. What we did enjoy though was in the evening, sitting out on the small terrace, with no light pollution looking up at the stars actually recognising some of the constellations and seeing a meteor flash across the sky whilst enjoying a cold glass of vino tinto straight from the fridge.
Sam the owner is Belgian and speaks good English as well as other languages, he is friendly, approachable, helpful, knowledgeable about the Altiplano de Granada and you get the feeling that he just loves his life and living it the way he does. He has obviously put a lot of effort into this project as the Caves for rental were originally animal quarters and I wish him luck with his future plans.
Now for the highest and lowest points of this accommodation, The highest was that it was spotlessly clean, the lowest was the dirt track approach road.
Lastly the surprising point, it felt so safe here, you really did feel as if you could leave the door unlocked when you left for the day just as Fred and Wilma did in days gone bye....
