“Whole LottaFrutta Going On Here!”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

Looking for a late afternoon or mid-day snack? Well, there's a whole LottaFrutta going on Auburn Avenue. The two of us traveled around our elbow through a pothole laden downtown Atlanta and comical detour sign turns to Sweet Auburn and the Old Forth Ward to try out some famed fresh fruit cups. Well worth the trouble and construction detours for as mid afternoon delight! Lottafrutta is stuffed into the corner of a beautiful old block of Auburn Ave (with interesting architecture) just seconds away from the MLK Historic Home site. A bald headed guy greeted us at the counter and introduced himself as Chi Chi. He insisting on shaking our hands and took the order immediately. He was very friendly and we felt right at home. We saw a few tables inside and out...but we decided to get our order on the go. Looked like the menu has a good variety of Smoothies and Cuban Sandwiches. (We will be back for lunch). We ordered The Limonatta (a cup of fresh cut coconut, cucumbers, melons, mango and more in fresh limejuice - sprinkled with powered chili guajillo served with a drink umbrella. So very good on fruit and veggies and energizing. The other fruit cup was the Cremolatta. (Get the Grande!) This was a cup of banana, grapes, melons, strawberry and more with fresh homemade cream served with a drink umbrella. As the sign said...Fuera de Serie! It really was “off the charts” and I wanted to eat more LottaFrutta.

“Best Little Sandwich Shop in Old Fourth Ward”
Reviewed May 19, 2012

Lotta Frutta is a destination and gathering place. Moms push their baby carriages to get a fresh salad with light lemon dressing and sit outside in the sun, dad's bring the kids after soccer games to get smoothies and ice pops and people in the neighborhood run in for a delicious sandwich with a Latin flair. like the Have to Ham it, a variation on the Cuban sandwich. People gather outside and talk to the neighbors or give directions to the tourists. It doesn't hurt that it is right across the street from the Wigwam Building, a deco apartment turned condo. You feel a bit like you are in Miami or other tropical locale. Who would have thought that you would get that on the corner of Auburn and Randolph street right down the street from the King birth home?

Fruit cups were great; sandwiches were average; worth stopping by for a snack.
