Stayed overnight for en Elton John concert next door at Phillips Arena. We stayed in one of the suites.

The room was nice sized, the living area was enormous! The hotel decor somewhat shows it's age style-wise, but has been maintained very well.

Check in was a breeze, we were pre-checked in, basically because we prepaid, all of the normal formalities of check in were needless and our key was literally handing on the wall waiting for us by reception.

Two sort of bummer situations; while check in was very easy, our keys did not work so had to make the hike back down to reception for reprogram. Then oddly, about an hour later, a very nice couple walked into our room. They had somehow been assigned the same room and key. The couple had to go back down to reception to sort things out. A very nice manager came up to apologize and offered to deliver new keys which we said was unnecessary as we were on our way downstairs anyways. The front desk had a $25 room service credit waiting for us for our "troubles". Luckily, the other couple walked in at a good time, everyone was "decent" so it was really not a big deal although potentially it could have been.

You cannot beat this hotel for proximity to Phillips and of course many other Atlanta attractions.

If using valet , I would suggest calling down with 20-30 minutes anticipation to avoid waiting in line, it's a very busy valet.

Make no mistake about it, this hotel is an 'appendage' to the convention center. That location feature, if attending a convention, is a plus. So let's start at the beginning.

Website...a cluttered user interface with pretty average usability. Phone service to confirm reservation and answer my questions was above average.

Arrival...used online checkin. Great, until you find out there are two towers with two separate checkins and thus two separate online checkin boards. Who knew? Desk folks were reasonably helpful.

Room...a dark motif, good view onto Centennial Park, average bathroom, reasonably clean. My room proved to be quiet as well. Odd very large pillows with only two usable pillows for sleeping. Cleaning service was fine.

Room service...inconsistency plagued my room service experience. Meals were brought promptly sometimes, delayed others. Sometimes the food quality acceptable and the food appropriately warm or cool. Other times hot food items were lukewarm at best and cold items including fresh fruit was warm and in one case had an odd odour and seemed on it's way to spoilage.

Restaurant...really only one choice in the hotel and thus the added importance for room service. The hotel has a large number of rooms (over 1,000 I believe) and it is hard to believe they thought one restaurant would be adequate. The bar lounge does serve some food as well as a coffee shop but neither can adequately shore up the inadequacy of 'supply' provided by the only restaurant. Service at that restaurant was spotty as best and the food was reasonable quality. The spotty service (delayed service) was a real problem with both restaurant meals and room service given attendance at a conference and the large crowds trying to eat at about the same time. There is a CNN food court but who wants that over and over again.

Check out...went well at the front desk. Pretty well with the bell desk.

My over arching impression is they are trying way too hard to do more with less and cannot handle the volume which would be expected by a convention crowd. This results in a lot of their workers being resourced to paid functions in rented rooms and thus dilutes the regular services.

The hotel staff had their high points but overall there was a detached feel to the service provided by the desk folks and restaurant staff.

Should I go to a conference there in the future I will seek another lodging option.

Room Tip: Room with a view of Centennial Park is nice.

The Omni is the perfect choice when attending an event at the Georgia World Conference Center or a Falcons game. Just a short 2 minute walk away, it offers luxury and convenience. This will be my "go to" hotel whenever I am staying downtown.

This is a large hotel which gives a small hotel level of service. There are staff in all departments who go out of their way to help in all sorts of small ways that make a huge difference. There are many hotels in Atlanta, but I would definitely chose this one again - and the peach cobbler in the bar is fantastic!

Stayed here in the south tower for a conference and did not enjoy the experience. We did have a nice view--that's where the compliments end. Avoid at all costs if you have a fear of heights--the stairs are literally blocked off and the elevators are tiny glass tubes. Poor cleaning service as well--on day 3 I had to finally call and ask for someone to take out my trash. The staff I have interacted with give the impression that they are either unhappy/overworked/don't care, or are palm-up-for-a-tip ingratiating. Seriously--a conference hotel still charging $10 per day for internet access??? Try catering to your clientele a little more--we're not on vacation here. Loud noises in the walls (pipes? heating?) all night long and really poor climate control (there seems to be a 10 degree difference between the thermostat's settings of 72 and 73 degrees) make for more tossing and turning than sleeping. At over $250 by the time you include essential parking and internet fees, this place is not worth the money. Will never stay here again, even if my conference is booked here--plenty of other close hotels.

Room Tip: Avoid south tower if afraid of heights--requires a glass walled elevator ride to get to rooms, and t...

Thank you for choosing to stay with us during your recent visit to Atlanta. We appreciate your candid feedback and would like to apologize that you found your experience to be a disappointing one. Our primary objective is always to create memorable guest experiences, and as such, our executive committee will review your comments so that corrective measures may be taken.

We hope to have another opportunity to amend your perception of our hotel. Our newly-renovated North Tower has traditional walled elevators and impressive city views without an outdoor balcony (much more relaxing for our acrophobic guests). Should your travels bring you back to Atlanta, please contact our front office manager at 404-659-0000 for personal assistance with a reservation.

I was honestly a bit shocked at the Omni. It is a big hotel and is in a good location if you are going to the arena but it is showing sings of wear. My room was clean enough but the furniture was scratched, there were stains on the carpet, my refrigerator didn't work, and there were patch panels screwed into the wall to cover holes. For the price I paid I expected much more. Given the choice I would not stay here again.
