We stayed one night.Rooms were clean and very comfortable. Loved the safety- our car was secured under the motel. A very nice enclosed courtyard. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Location was great as it is walking distance of Centinenal Park, CNN and Coca-Cola museum.
Breakfast bar was included- large selection and plentiful.

Room Tip: Ist floor rooms open into the court yard.

You have a really pleasant tone... in all of your reviews.... I found that refreshing.

Drury Inns... you say... "always makes our stay pleasant"...

I have been reading a lot of good comments about Drury Inns on Trip Advisor...
and while there is no Drury Inn...
in downtown Atlanta...

I am happy that you chose to trust us... for whatever reason...
and that we pleased you too.

thank you for your kind words.

I stayed in the hotel for 9 days with 200 kids and chaperones for a tournament. I felt like I was at the Ritz, but at a much more affordable price. Any problems that came up were immediately addressed; all employees were polite and professional, and they were very willing to accommodate special requests for our group. An amazing staff!

Yin-yang... or more commonly referred to as "yin and Yang"... is used to describe how...
seemingly opposite or contrary forces... are interconnected and interdependent.

Yin and yang are actually complimentary, not opposing, forces,
interacting to form... a whole greater... than either separate part.

Either of the two major aspects may manifest more strongly in a particular....
situation...or event depending on the criterion of the observation.

OKAY so what the heck... am I rambling on about...
well...
I responded to a previous guest who stayed with us...
for four of the nine days...of a convention...
where we... met none of their needs... see review below.

And yet... both you and they.. were part of... the same convention...
where we and the Hyatt Regency... served as the host hotels.

She a member participant in the National Bridge Tournament...
you... as part of the Youth World Bridge Tournament.

Both ....really great "entities".. that we enjoyed thoroughly being here.
and I believe both hotels served rather well overall.

Glad you felt like you were at the Ritz Hotel...we are not a Ritz...but thank you.
hmmmm... another.... yin and yang

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in the Spring 2013. Pros: Give you 5 stars for the following: Friendly, patient, and professional front desk staff. Beautifully decorated lobby - I thought you should be awarded for it. Wonderful breakfasts; courteous staff and I think it transferred to the guests who were also courteous. The atmosphere for the breakfast was just pleasant. Parking was a plus although it was challenging for me, the suburban dweller.

Cons: I would like to give you 1 star for the following. I sorry to report that I found hair on the all of the pillow cases when we checked in and sheets. I did not say anything (I should). Then, I got bitten by insects overnight on my shoulder/ neck area (counted 23 bites). Since then, I have stayed away from Best Western or BW Plus or Pet friendly hotels when I travel. If you could describe your pest control program, it would be useful for the guests in the future.

Good Luck.

Room Tip: This is a court yard type of hotel. Rooms are open to the open hallway. It gets cold in the morning...

We are indeed... a pet friendly hotel ... and sincerely regret that you will never come back...
even though you found so much to be genuinely pleased with.

We have 5 of our guest rooms identified as pet friendly use... out of 109 rooms.

We understand and respect your decision to not stay at any pet friendly hotel.
And we understand that many others share that position.

My wife and I rescue dogs and rehabilitate them at our home and so we obviously...
are of a different mindset.... and it is so... with "half" of the hotel operators in Atlanta.

To assist with your future travels to downtown Atlanta... allow me to share...
that the top ranked and major brands....that DO allow pets...
are Westin, Hilton, Sheraton, W hotels, Hotel indigo and Residence Inn...
Omni Hotel CNN...and Hyatt Place...
and...
those hotels that DO NOT allow pets...
Hyatt Regency, Marriott Marquis, Hampton Inn GA Tech, Hampton Inn and Suites...
Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express... to name a few of the 16 located downtown.

If you type/search for Pet Friendly hotels on TripAdvisor...
you will get a complete list showing the 79 pet friendly out of 194 in Atlanta "area".

As for your request for information on how we service those pet rooms...

1.. We strip the rooms of all linens and bed ware and these are washed separately.
2...The guest room is shampooed after each use.
3...We use TERMINEX...as do many of the major hotels for pest control.
4...Terminex service us once a month providing entire property coverage...
and go into 37 rooms each month for a complete spray down.

Thank you for the good comments...and please know we appreciate that.

As for your..."boycotting" every Best Western...
well...I ask to please reconsider that.
there are 2,200 privately owned hotel in the Americas... and just like the list...
I shared with you above... not all of them... take pets...
so please... please don't exclude every one of them.

It may not have been the coldest summer week on record... but it was indeed cold.

Rainfall in Atlanta for the first half of 2013 is 37.2 in versus ALL of 2012 at 37.0

That stated... hard to complain about...anything...
with the amount of devastation we have had in the USA...and are still having.

Anyway... this is not about the weather I know... so...
back to the point.... obviously thank you for the... to the point... commentary.

Yes I too...wish we had a pool... pools downtown are very rare at hotels...
and we do get asked about it... and guests... are surprised we do not have one.
Most hotels are on such tiny land plots... and space utilization "is everything"...

I don't usually think of the Best Western as the best hotel experience; but short of a 4-star hotel, it was really darn good. Hotel room was attractive, clean, comfortable, and wi-fi worked. Staff were nice and actually acted as if they cared that I was getting everything I needed to be comfortable, including Tazo herbal tea in the evening. Biggest surprise of all, rice offered at breakfast; great option for gluten-free eater.

"Surprised"... here is another... bigger surprise... Best Western...overseas IS a four star.

I know... I know... "really" ?.... yes really.

Yes I know that... in the US... that is not the case... and yes...
as with every brand... there are hotels... not worthy...
but as with every brand... including Best Western...many are 4 or close to four.

We are lucky to be one of those... trying to become known as a four star.

Not going to happen... because perceptions... as mentioned in a previous review...
are reality...
but please know... that many of the good owners of Best Western have hotels...
that truly deserve that status.

As for us... with our location being in downtown Atlanta on the main street...
most of our guests are from.... Europe and Asia... so they know us as a four star.

Thanks for the good words...glad you liked the rice...
more foods coming... slices of cold cuts...tomatoes....
and my favorite... herring in wine or cream sauce... yummy.
Okay... my staff.... is throwing up now... but yes.. herring for the Europeans.

The Best Western at this location has some issues... yes it is an older construction... yes it does look like you made a mistake when you drive up too it... " no curb appeal at all...actually scary looking but I can tell you the place is clean... and the people that work here do have pride in their business and their job... The worst thing is that if you park in their basement it is really inefficient to go into it... they either need a key card to open of make sure someone opens the door...when you pull up... 3 days I have had to send in my kid or someone to tell them then they tell them to wait... Do not like this system at all.... And lastly.... do not like that everyone that smokes .... comes out door and smokes there..... Put signage.... no smoking 50 feet from front door....

I would give this a 2 to 2.5 star if I was going on the hotel only... but the free breakfast is one of the best that I have ever had as a chain freebie.... The lady that works it every morning is very nice.... "always saying morning" Makes fresh eggs for scrambled not that dehydrated crap other places do.... Pancakes, waffles eggs, grits, sausage cereal yogurt, etc.... even has rice for the asian patrons... my wife is asian and appreciates the fact that someone took the opportunity to know what other cultures have for breakfast. Great place for the international crowd or those who enjoy a good breakfast to start the day... Would be great if they got one of those self contained coffee machines that could make cappuccino and coffee to order.... but they do use good coffee"Seattles Best" This place does not skimp at all...

So I will return... however... would love the opportunity to see the garage entry would be more efficient. What I also like here is that I have had to work in the dining area and I am a management consultant and love to see that the owner takes such an active role in running the place. I have been here for 3days and will be leaving on Friday but if the service continues will be back in September..

Room Tip: Excellent for the Aquarium, CNN and Coke.... Does not have swimming pool

"The difference between an ordinary experience... and an exceptional one...
is in the details along the way".

I have been waiting for a year.. to find someone worthy enough..
to be "awarded" this very special quote... and you sir... are chosen...
for the reviews you have produced over the years... around the world.

Although I did..do cringe...
at the word "scary"... in your review of us...
It was...
as ALL your reviews were... spot on... balanced and very fair...
and sometime... even generous. That is the mark of a great reviewer.

As you may know... I read the review of all of our reviewers...
to see if they can be trusted... and to see their experiences.

In reading...every... every one... of your reviews...
the details... you shared I knew could be trusted... and the descriptions enticing.

Why "enticing"... well... you described yourself as a "foodie"...
and so in all of your restaurant reviews...
the descriptions were rather unique... and I could..."taste" them in my mind.

Anyway... enough of the praise and accolades... bottom line here for me...
is... that I do hope you come back.... as you say in September.

Thanks for the suggestions... on the parking.. and also for mentioning the rice...
we are... indeed a hotel...
that caters more so... to the European and Asian markets ...
and as such .... more "things" are being added to pay respects to other cultures.

We want so much... to be really focused on... the details... and to be exceptional.

We had requested NON-SMOKING room, and expected a quiet stay. The hotel had it's ashtrays right outside of the entrance, at all points, making it impossible to enter the facility without running the gauntlet. Then, expecting to be able to breath on the inner courtyard, smokers also settled in to party, argue, drink, and smoke right outside of our door. On requesting a change of rooms we were assured that the courtyard was a non-smoking area. Now, as one who is made quite ill by smoke, I have arrived home with an absurd level of congestion and misery. The noise level was usually controlled after 11:00 pm.... but only with a move of the noisy ones to the meeting room, also across the courtyard from our room. The air conditioner was so noisy at times, you had to choose sweaty sleep over noise-disrupted sleep. The fan used for the underground garage literally shook the walls and windows of our room. The bathroom door was in bad need of WD-40, the plug in the sink would stick.... hmmmm... I don't think I would return to this location

No smoking is allowed in our guest rooms and breakfast area.. but the outside courtyard yes.

I can't enter into a discussion about smoking or non-smoking...
as I do support...the rights of all individuals...
but yes I too...as you..
get gravely ill around smoke...so I well understand..

The conundrum I have on your review...
is how to respond candidly... and without being political correct.

Why the conundrum... well the very people... our guests...
that you...referred to...
"smokers also settled in to party, argue, drink, and smoke right outside of our door"
were the members and participants.... in your organization.

As you know our hotel and the Hyatt Regency across the street...
were the exclusive host hotels...
for the National and World Bridge Tournament...for nine days...
we were sold out to your association.

Of our 109 rooms... 100 were occupied by your fellow mates...

Hard for me to then... to demand... that they be quiet and stop smoking.
And with a number of them being ... the leadership.. well.....
honestly ... did not know how to resolve.

That stated...yes you have your rights as our guest...
and I am so sorry...
that during your four nights here... things were miserable..
The operational things you mentioned...I fixed... smoking I failed to fix.

I also saddened to read... in your other reviews.... that when...
you "escaped" ....
to spend your last night.... at the Hyatt Regency...
you were confronted with and exposed to... the exact same circumstances...
with the bridge players being at and around their outdoor pool area...
and since that really good hotel.... has over 1200 rooms...wow how awful.

All that stated... please know... that in our two years of being open...
while we have had occasional smoking in the courtyard...
I...we...have never ever... seen such a massive smoke fest as this.

I know that you stated you might not return and stay here again...
SO...as a small token of my regrets...
for your not experiencing us... as we typically are..

I would like you consider coming back to Atlanta...
and staying with us as my guest... I know you will find us quite different.

If you grant me this opportunity... contact me at gdvelis@innatthepeachtrees.com

Hoping your forgive us...!!
