“A very well located and great hotel”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

We booked this hotel mainly for the location : 10 minutes of walk will bring you to World of Coca-Cola, the Georgia Aquarium and the centennial olympic park.
That being said, once we discovered the room, we were pleasantly surprised. It looks like everything has been recently remodeled. The beddings were very nice and the overall cleanliness perfect. The size of the bedrooms is nice; the bathroom, however, is a little bit small.
The interior courtyard is quite relaxing. Be careful when you chose your room : there's an underground parking under some of the rooms and when the ventilation starts, the room just above (the one we had) shakes ! On the other hand, it only took us a trip to the front desk to have it stopped by the maintenance guy.
Unfortunately, about the front desk and guest services, I have to admit that some of the previous reviews talking about a staff member being almost rude are true (I don't know if I faced the same person on the other hand). For that matter, I have to say that I'm surprised by the answers given by the manager on this website... You would expect more than just sarcasm when lots of people complain about service...
Anyway, there is no restaurant in the hotel but it's not an issue : less than 10 minutes from the hotel are a lot of restaurants (Hard Rock Cafe, steakhouses, brands like Hooters etc.).
Last, the number of parking spots is limited. While we were staying in the hotel, all were taken so we had to park on the one located just across the street. It's not really cheap : it's 7 dollars until 4pm and then, it's 10 additional dollars for the overnight.
To sum up, we would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Sarcasm"... I hate to read that about... me... but you are right I was sarcastic.

Did not mean to be....as it relates to the previous review..."Adequate"

I suppose I could share... that since I am from New York...
everything I say...write...is always direct...perhaps...too direct
and so I am aware that...
sometimes... I "come across as"...either rude...or sarcastic.

It's a problem for me...and one my wife..."counsels" me on all the time

I could share... that despite my thinking I am so "disciplined"...
and can respond in...say...a more...kind..."politically correct way"...
that...
the truth is.... that when it comes to those who work here..
I get very protective of them. They are all "good apples".

This review site...and others... on the web.....
and the private Best Western review site...
available to rewards members... including yourself at the Platinum Level...
all show...document...
that our staff members rank in the upper 90 percentile in service and care.

Sorry that I did not present myself...as a good apple...
and hope to change that impression...on your next visit..

Thanks for reading this...way too long response...

I'll admit, I never stayed in a Best Western and I didn't know what to expect from the room but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and it had been recently updated and had a modern look. My only issue was that the sheets on the bed were so piled and rough that It was kinda uncomfortable to sleep on the sheets; all I could think about is how many other people must have used them before me. Oh, and the staff was great, but there was one bad apple. Shannon at the front desk was on the borderline of rude and indifferent did not make me feel welcome as a guest in the hotel. She needs to check her attitude before she comes into work. Everyone else though was great and said hello and good day to you when they walked by. The location was great too. Short walk to everything touristy in the city. I would recommend this hotel to friends traveling to Atlanta.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street seem to be better positioned than those in the courtyard. There is parking a...

"Justin Bieber booed, Taylor Swift get's rude". Was the the headline...
in the San Francisco Examiner after the Billboard Music Awards.

To be sure Shannon... is no Taylor Swift...
but Shannon... like Taylor... is not known to be rude.

But "things"... happen....are done, said...and as such
perceived to be.

Please know that she feels awful...
that you did not "see" her... as she is known to us...and our guests.

As for the sheets... you are correct on both counts.
Pilling is visible and caused by so many people sleeping on them.
Well...actually...washing is causing that...

We sell out most every night...and Joelle my OPS manager...
coincidently... informed me... earlier this week
that she would have to replace sheets...
on a much more accelerated pace...consider it done.

Thanks for staying with us....thanks for the recommendation...
and please...
forgive Shannon.... she is a good apple.

... our family recently visited the Atlanta area. We wanted to mix the charming downtown life with the Atlanta area and greatly enjoyed this location. Walking distance convenient to super eating spots and attractions. I suggest you try the Durango Steakhouse close by (walk to it) and the absolutely beautiful Georgia Aquarium (walk to it). The Best Western experience was spot on as usual. A wonderful staff ( Shannon and Donnell come to my mind), hot, fresh breakfast to start the day and clean rooms w no problems. As a bonus we were here late May... Sunny, comfortable temps and the jasmine was in bloom!... no better way to enjoy an Atlanta night than to sit in the courtyard smelling this, wow!....hope you'll consider this hotel if you are traveling in the Atlanta area.( just a few easy minutes from the airport as well). Happy travels!

Before I "review"... your review.... thanks for the Shannon and Donnell comment.

That stated.... where do I begin...
HEADLINE... really creative / fun...
and....
your closing comment...."Happy travels"
let me know that you would be interesting.

As you may know or now are being informed...

I read....ALL of the reviews of a reviewer.. to see if they have credibility...
and can be trusted.

Before I "announce" my "verdict"...

here is what I read / stood out to me ... and extracted individually from
among your many restaurant reviews...

"Great Cannoli ... maple glazed donuts with the lightest bacon taste....
cheesecake with fresh strawberry puree ... chocolate and mint custards ...
fruit flan and Cuban coffee... pancakes with bacon cooked right in them...
and...
on a lighter note.... "tasty apple salad with cranberries and walnuts".

Myself... Joelle my OPS manager... and Jessica my DOS....
would all like to be adopted into your family....wherever you go.

"VERDICT" ....then...is... that you can be trusted.
(send me that donut)

I had just finished a 21 hour train and arrived in Atlanta at 8AM. The check-in time was normally after 3PM. The check-in told it was no problem to check right away. The hot breakfast of Waffles, Scrambled Eggs and Sausage was excellent. The room was quiet and comfortable with a really nice bedside light for reading. There were no issues with the room or service. My train didn't leave Atlanta until 8PM and BW checked my luggage so I was free to mingle downtown until my departure.

My daughter and I went to Atlanta for an overnight shopping trip. We had stayed at this hotel on our last visit and had such a great experience we went back again. The hotel is just such a pleasant place to stay. The entire staff was friendly, courteous and professional. The rooms are clean, fresh, and very comfortable. They have extra pillows in various styles (soft, firm, etc.) which I found to be a great perk. And then there is the breakfast bar that is outstanding and Free.
The location is great, close to everything. When we were finished with our shopping (again convenient and easy to get to) we walked to Max Lagers pub, (less than a block away), sat outside and had a lovely meal. I am in my sixties and really cherish the time I get to spend with my daughter. I found this hotel to be a little oasis in the heart of a great city. Thank you to the entire staff and management team

Room Tip: If available ask for a inside room. But if none are available the others face a sweet courtyard.

A dear friend.... a former colleague told me... "Happiness is not a state... it's a process".

This in response to my asking him...."if he was happy"?

He went on to explain... that 2 hours ago he was feeling miserable...
with "things' at his hotel...
and now talking with me...his good friend... he was happy...
but....
20 minutes from now after our chat....he could very well... be not happy.

Hence the comment....happiness is a process.

SO it is...with....your headline...."Just keeps getting better".

Yes....I love the heartfelt intent... and for that.... I will indeed say thank you.

But the reality is... that the days do not always go well...
we make a lot of guests happy....but...sometimes things go off track.
just know that....
we are always working /"processing"... on staying and getting better.

It makes me "happy"... that you cherish your time with your daughter...
and that you reminded me.... of my dear friend... of long ago.

My recent visit to Atlanta was enhanced tremendously by the attitude & actions of a very special staff at Best Western Plus Inn At The Peachtrees. They treated me as one of their family & my thanks especially to Donnell, Gretta, Jamila, Shannon & Yvonne! They were terrific!!

The hotel is within walking distance of many local sites, including the Martin Luther King Centre, Ebenezer Church (huge thanks Donnell!), CNN, The Georgia Aquarium, High Museum & Piedmont Park. Good walking shoes recommended - can be quite a hike to some of these sites, but if not up to it - MARTA has excellent light rail service).

The team's recommendations for restaurants were excellent, especially Georgia Sweet's Juke Joint at 200 Peachtree (fab food & music), & Max Lager's directly across the street from the hotel.

I will definitely stay again!

First no worries...not ever going become a cynic...love my wife too much.

Good to read that ...the waiters...CJ and Dan at the....

Your comments about them.... and our five staff members...who I love a lot too...

reinforce the reality that while...

that
there are still really good "things" out there...

I was looking at several hotels for our parents night out in Atlanta. To be honest, what finally made me choose this location, other then the great price was how the manager of the property responded to reveiws of his hotel. I was very impressed at how he would apologize when needed and praise his staff when needed. I felt that any one who enjoyed their job and took enough pride in their hotel, it was worth a try. I was not dissappointed at all. I have been reading the other reviews and I disagree with the negative ones, if you did your reasearch on the hotel, you will see that all the rooms are outdoor, you will also see the parking fee is 15.00, this is listed very plainly on their website (and other websites). Our room was clean, the bed was comfy and the hotel was in walking distance to everything. The staff was wonderful and everyone seemed happy to be there. We would stay here again for sure. Glad I gave it a try. Thanks!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the courtyard are very nice and quiet.

I will share with you that I am very close... to entering the "dark side"...the "world" of cynicism.

And....my wife Virginia....and best friend...
threatens to leave me... if I ever...do enter that negative world.

SO...
thank you for your kind words...
and more importantly....to me...
for...
reminding me that there are still people...
who read...
and make balanced decisions based on...
the totality of the reviews on Trip Advisor.

That stated...
as it relates to....me....and perhaps is the reason...
I respond to reviews the way I do...(always too long)

Is because of a quote...
in the book by Sidney Poitier.."The Measure of a Man"...

"I have no wish to play the pontificating fool,
pretending that I've suddenly come up with the answers...
to all lifes questions"...

"Quite contrary....
as I look back at a long a complicated life....
with many twists and turns...
how well I've done...
at measuring up to the values I myself have set".
