EVERYONE at the Hotel was gracious, helpful, accomodating and the rooms were beautiful.
Each time we needed directions they went out of their way to print maps, give us umbrellas when we had a threat of rain for the Atlanta Braves game. We walked to the aquarium, CNN, downtown, and the Atlanta Falcons game. Very convenient. The downtown felt safe and had ambassadors throughout the town to help with attractions and directions. Thrilled with Hotel re the value, people, and Atlanta! Great breakfast, great staff. They really went out of their way to help with whatever your needs were. We would stay here again on our visit to Atlanta. We are even considering Atlanta for future employment. Atlanta people were great!

Room Tip: I would think the interior rooms would be best because that is where we were located. But anywhere...

WOW... what a really nice review and commentary.

You seem like a very happy person and it was nice to read this...it made my day.

AND YES...
while Atlanta...does have it's share of...misrable people...
it is nice to be "reminded"...
that a HUGE number of our citizens...in Atlanta...
are indeed good...hard working people.

Anyway...
hope you do...end up...moving and working in our "neck of the woods"...
and look forward to your next visit.

Glad our staff pleased you.

Thank you

We enjoyed our recent stay. I found the location to be very convenient for our needs - walking distance to Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola, and very close to MARTA. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was small but functional and I found the bed to be comfortable. I also appreciated the shower head - large and up high. The breakfast each morning was adequate.

Negatives - the parking garage was small and space was tight. Security was a concern - we could walk from the street up to our room without passing through any doors. I was glad our room was on the top floor.

Room Tip: Request the top floor, overlooking the courtyard.

Security is in the forefront of our guest services.

And while we... and the other hotels downtown surrounding ours...
have not had any reported incidents in the past year....
we understand the perceptions one has when visiting a major city.

Regretfully the reality is that safety concerns...
are not exclusive to downtown locations...
but is an issue for all communites in the USA.

As for us....well...
even though for us...the yearly expense is extremely high...
we made the decision...
to hire an outside security service...
one of the top three in the greater Atlanta area...
and...
have Security guards from 8pm to 4am...
to assist...in the unlikely event...should anything ever occur.

As for your other excellent comments...
thank you for those.

We stayed here early October after attending an Atlanta Dream (women's professional basketball) playoff game at Philips Arena. We're not fitness buffs but we thoroughly enjoyed the comfortable and leisurely 15 minute walk to the arena. For its location, this Best Western is a remarkable value. Unlike many other options in the area, this hotel has complimentary wifi, a full breakfast bar, & 2 different newspapers. Also, they offer a gated covered parking lot (although maneuvering is tight) for $15. Having read reviews, we made advance reservations and requested a high floor. Our room was on the top floor (4th) and overlooking the street. With the air conditioner running we did not hear unusually loud or annoying sounds that tend to occur in cities. This hotel is definitely on our "favorites" list when considering amenities, location, and value in downtown Atlanta.

I'd say that our experience at this hotel wasn't the best. The room was very small, very hard to even just open the door to get into the room. The bathroom was small (very small). The location was very noisy and not too safe to walk around. As well, the bed and pillows had to be the most uncomfortable that I've ever experienced. Parking can get crowded and you can be forced to park across the street, plus they charge to park there. I personally would not recommend this hotel to stay.

Room Tip: Stay at inner room... outside corner rooms are VERY noisy!

Sorry you won't come back and found...the beds/ pillows uncomfortable.

I read all of your 19 reviews and know/appreciate that you are direct and to the point.

In that "spirit"...and respect...allow me to respond in the same fashion.

The hotel opened last year and everything is brand new...
and we purchased what we thought/believe...to be among the best available...
and yet...we recognize that comfort...is such a highly personal matter.

Noise will always be a factor at all the hotels in downtown Atlanta....
and while our rooms facing the street are "noiser"...
the ones on the interior courtyard are rather quiet and peacful.

The room you stayed in is small with a small bathroom...those in the corners....
were designed that way...I am not sure why...other than perhaps...
it was a way for the developer ....years ago...to obtain more rentable units.

That stated...
there are...thank goodness...only a handful...of these...I believe around...8....
and...
perhaps oddly...there are guests who actually find these compact and preferable...

That stated...I wish we had a way to "ask" guests...and if this is an issue...
we would always move them to a different location...
and yes...as I am writing this commentary...
perhaps...
I should simply train the desk agents to notify guests upon check in...
that if the room is not what they expected...to just let us know.

GREAT IDEA...consider it done....unless...of course we are SOLD OUT...
then...movement may not be an option.

As for parking fee...well...that...I cannot resolve.

Every hotel around us in downtown Atlanta... has to charge for parking.

I have a list of 16 hotels...which shows they charge from $18 to $32 per day.
we charge $15....which is the lowest...
and...all of which... goes to the owner/operator of that parking lot.

I wish that there was a way....
for me to..."win you back"...
but....you were so emphatic about...not coming back...nor recommending us...
that...I honestly do not know how I could ask you for a second chance.

BUT...
me ...coming from...NYC..
I have to give it a "shot"...
so...
if you would ..."ever" reconsider...
then...

contact me directly at

and....
I will make you an offer you "can't refuse".

Check Inn:
Very smooth and quick, just mention your Name, show ID and a Credit Card.
The Building:
It's a multistory Building ( 4 Floors ) with veranda accsess to the rooms.
The Rooms:
The Rooms are newly renovated in a boutique style designe. Room size is about 14m2.
It has sink and mirror open in the room and a separate shower and toilette.
Closet space is just a open wardrobe with a rail and hangers and to be closed by a curtain.
There is also some drawer space avbl. in the sideboard/desk combination.
My room (419) was very quiet and had all the amenities: wifi, flat screen, clock radio with iPhone/Pod connection, iron and board, safe, fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, amenity products and a powerfull rain shower.
Breakfast:
Since you stay at a Best Western, the offert breakfast does its job perfectly. Even if served on plastic plates and cutlery and paper cups.
But if you like a more fancy morning meal, serval 4&5 star Hotels around that area could fulfill your desire at extra $$$

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper levels, facing the inner courtyard

What an interesting commentary. Rather forensic and quite accurate. YES I liked it !

Glad that you had an interior courtyard room and that you found it quiet.

Since you used "meters" to size your room....I presume...you are from Europe...
okay...I just looked at your review again...and saw...you are from Switzerland.

I know that in Europe and in Asia....Best Western...
is regarded as a four star/diamond hotel company...and well deserved.

Most of our guests are from overseas... and it is for this reason...
we are soon going to add...to our breakfast....
plates and silverware....
and...hard boiled eggs, slices of ham/cheese/tomatoes... and herring in cream sauce...
so that you can feel more at home.

Thanks for your very good comments...we work hard to please and earn positive views.

Like other Best Westerns we visited on this trip, the room was large and clean with great beds. We had exterior rooms which were a bit noisy, but you're downtown so it's kind of expected. Parking was easy, at the parking garage just around the corner and is accessed using a keycard. Breakfast was good with a variety of hot and cold items. Staff were generally friendly, although the receptionist was a bit surly. I'd stay again no problem.

Thanks for stating that you would come back..found your room large and...great beds.

Of our 109 rooms 40 are "compact"...or small but well appointed...and so it was refreshing...
to read a commentary where one of our guests actually had the "larger" sized rooms.

You are also correct to have noted that since we are in the Central Business District...
located on the main street in Atlanta...near "everything"....
it is going to be noiser... for those 30 rooms that face that main street.

The inside courtyard rooms are quieter and the views more relaxing "despite" the city.
SO...the next time you stay with us...we will place you in one of those.

As for that "surely" receptionist...well....she has now "joined" the ranks of our friendly staff.

Excellent location and value for downtown access, very good beds and pillows, compact but well-organized room. Courtyard room access provided feel of safety. Free breakfast was sufficient. Staff allowed us to leave car in garage late on check-out day so we could attend to business at Ga Tech. Fancy bath fixtures and layout felt kind of European. 2nd floor which we stayed on (room 213) is near the HVAC units clustered in center of courtyard which were audible at night, so if you are a light sleeper you might request an upper floor room.

Room Tip: HVAC unit noise is audible on lower floors on south end of courtyard...

Thanks for your comments. Glad you found the beds and pillows comfortable.

And yes...the courtyard rooms do indeed give you a sense of safety....
along with.... being a nice place to sit and read in silence. There is only one other...
hotel that I know of that has a similar outdoor courtyard which makes for a pleasant stay.

I did note...and...liked...your refering to your room as compact but well organized.
Of our 109 rooms....around 40 are "compact"...most guests use the word "small"...
but...
you are "spot on"...when you observed/experienced...that they are clean and well thought out.
so...thank you for that.
