Check Inn:
Very smooth and quick, just mention your Name, show ID and a Credit Card.
The Building:
It's a multistory Building ( 4 Floors ) with veranda accsess to the rooms.
The Rooms:
The Rooms are newly renovated in a boutique style designe. Room size is about 14m2.
It has sink and mirror open in the room and a separate shower and toilette.
Closet space is just a open wardrobe with a rail and hangers and to be closed by a curtain.
There is also some drawer space avbl. in the sideboard/desk combination.
My room (419) was very quiet and had all the amenities: wifi, flat screen, clock radio with iPhone/Pod connection, iron and board, safe, fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, amenity products and a powerfull rain shower.
Breakfast:
Since you stay at a Best Western, the offert breakfast does its job perfectly. Even if served on plastic plates and cutlery and paper cups.
But if you like a more fancy morning meal, serval 4&5 star Hotels around that area could fulfill your desire at extra $$$

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper levels, facing the inner courtyard

What an interesting commentary. Rather forensic and quite accurate. YES I liked it !

Glad that you had an interior courtyard room and that you found it quiet.

Since you used "meters" to size your room....I presume...you are from Europe...
okay...I just looked at your review again...and saw...you are from Switzerland.

I know that in Europe and in Asia....Best Western...
is regarded as a four star/diamond hotel company...and well deserved.

Most of our guests are from overseas... and it is for this reason...
we are soon going to add...to our breakfast....
plates and silverware....
and...hard boiled eggs, slices of ham/cheese/tomatoes... and herring in cream sauce...
so that you can feel more at home.

Thanks for your very good comments...we work hard to please and earn positive views.

Like other Best Westerns we visited on this trip, the room was large and clean with great beds. We had exterior rooms which were a bit noisy, but you're downtown so it's kind of expected. Parking was easy, at the parking garage just around the corner and is accessed using a keycard. Breakfast was good with a variety of hot and cold items. Staff were generally friendly, although the receptionist was a bit surly. I'd stay again no problem.

Thanks for stating that you would come back..found your room large and...great beds.

Of our 109 rooms 40 are "compact"...or small but well appointed...and so it was refreshing...
to read a commentary where one of our guests actually had the "larger" sized rooms.

You are also correct to have noted that since we are in the Central Business District...
located on the main street in Atlanta...near "everything"....
it is going to be noiser... for those 30 rooms that face that main street.

The inside courtyard rooms are quieter and the views more relaxing "despite" the city.
SO...the next time you stay with us...we will place you in one of those.

As for that "surely" receptionist...well....she has now "joined" the ranks of our friendly staff.

Excellent location and value for downtown access, very good beds and pillows, compact but well-organized room. Courtyard room access provided feel of safety. Free breakfast was sufficient. Staff allowed us to leave car in garage late on check-out day so we could attend to business at Ga Tech. Fancy bath fixtures and layout felt kind of European. 2nd floor which we stayed on (room 213) is near the HVAC units clustered in center of courtyard which were audible at night, so if you are a light sleeper you might request an upper floor room.

Room Tip: HVAC unit noise is audible on lower floors on south end of courtyard...

Thanks for your comments. Glad you found the beds and pillows comfortable.

And yes...the courtyard rooms do indeed give you a sense of safety....
along with.... being a nice place to sit and read in silence. There is only one other...
hotel that I know of that has a similar outdoor courtyard which makes for a pleasant stay.

I did note...and...liked...your refering to your room as compact but well organized.
Of our 109 rooms....around 40 are "compact"...most guests use the word "small"...
but...
you are "spot on"...when you observed/experienced...that they are clean and well thought out.
so...thank you for that.

For the $125 (plus tax) I paid on Orbitz, this was a very good deal. It's not a high rise or luxury hotel, but very comfortable. Location is good in CBD, although a little hard to find. Has most of the amenities you'd expect.

Best Western. Need I say more?

I will anyway. Great location for downtown and the CBD. We arrived late and after checking in went out to find something to eat n drink. Room recently (?) refitted, shower good, comfortable bed, what more can I say.
To find a restaurant just take a little walk round the corner and there they are.

This is a nice downtown hotel and reasonable price for a big city. The breakfast buffet was very good with several hot items, staff did tend to rush you out at 9:30 though. We received one of the few outside rooms on the street which could only be reached by going up 6or 8 steps, and no help was offered for our luggage. The rest of the hotel faces a courtyard and can be reached by elevator. If you get stuck in one of the 4 or 5 rooms on the street, I'd asked to be moved or offered a discount. The street noise was drowned out by a loud A/C unit. Room was well decorated, but very small for a US room, thought I was in a European type hotel. There was no tub just a shower. There were 2 double beds, but if there had been more than 2 people in this room I think you would have to take turns moving around the room.

Desk staff were pleasant, but not very helpful with local information, we were not offered a map of the city, there was a poor one in one of the brochures in the lobby. Staff only off-handedly gave information about restaurants or local attractions. Except for the breakfast buffet, I don't see why this was a Best Western PLUS.

Room Tip: Make sure you don't get the on the street rooms, loud and only accessible by steps.

I have looked at your comments a couple of times now.

Normally I am able to respond rather fast and to the point....
but...yours was interesting...and every time I wrote a response...
I ended up deleting it and ...reworking it.

Why did I find it challenging...because the points/observations you made...
were true....and yet I do not have anything I can do about it.

True we have four rooms on the first floor accessed by walking up six steps.
True these rooms face the major street of Atlanta Downtown.
True these rooms are small and more............................. "like a European hotel room"
True these rooms have showers as opposed to tubs....unlike a European hotel room

BUT....
True also.... that these rooms are more times requested than the others...
why...not really sure...
BUT....
our largest customer base/source comes from Europe....so maybe this is why.

I did not know till I assumed responsibility for this hotel that Best Western
over in Europe is regarded as a four star entity....and while we operate in the USA....
and value/need our domestic guests...we recognize the importance of all guest worldwide...
and maintain an environment where everyone can feel at home and be satisfied.

Perhaps this is one reason why we are a Best Western Plus.

As I am finishing with my commentary....there is one thing I can correct...
which is to make sure our desk agent have the correct city map and in large quantities.

Thanks for opening with "this is a nice downtown hotel and reasonable price for a big city"

We are nice...and we will work hard to do a bit more to be great.

This hotel is located at a perfect downtown location a short walk to the Peachtree MARTA stop. Most of the staff were very nice and helpfull. Free wifi and breakfast was a nice bonus. The rooms were clean but dated. Not a huge fan of the outdoor hallway due to the fact you can hear anything happening on the street in the middle of the night. The AC unit was loud. This hotel for fine for us who are younger experienced travellers who were really only coming in late to sleep their. Can't beat the price for the area. If you want a quiet more modern stay I might recommend you spend alittle more money and stay somewhere down the street.

Room Tip: Avoid any rooms near the elavator

Yes you are correct on both points good location and loud.

Of our 109 rooms 30 face the main street in downtown Atlanta...
and buses and cars drive by....fortunately.... much fewer in the evening and at night.

This is a common issue for all hotels...
with rooms that face... this street in Atlanta....
so just going to another hotel...
and there are a lot of really great hotels...
higher priced down the street...may not be the answer.

That shared...
we do have 79 rooms that face the inside courtyard....
that are rather quiet.

Allow me to make a "self-serving" comment....
we are a very popular hotel...
and are "blessed/lucky"...
to have one of the highest occupancy figures in the City.

Now that....is a "double edged" sword...

in that while we are prospering...
it does limits our ability...
to place all of our guests..away from that street side...
when we fill most nights.

Now it is true...that many guests
many who are placed or request that side....
have no issue with the sound...at all
but it is
an issue a real issue...
that the owners..."good owners" ..have been working on.

In discussion is the installation of...
sound proof glass on that side of the building...
expensive...very expensive....
but...
would ensure that everyone would sleep better.

As for that "noisy" AC unit....well...that was replaced with another one...now all is "silent".

Finally as for MARTA...
yes...that is just great for us...
there are two stations...
one on either side of us...and...both less than a 3 minute walk...to our front lobby door.

Anyway...thanks for your good comments...
and since you liked us...
please don't go to that "higher priced hotel"...
call ahead...and let's us just put you on the inside rooms.
