“Clean, modern with wonderful amenities!”
Reviewed August 7, 2011

Stayed here with friends for WWE. Hotel staff was friendly and accomodating, rooms were clean and modern. Also tried the resturant that is situated in the middle of the hotel and it was wonderful. Would stay again and recommend to anyone!

Excellent staff willing to do everything in there power to ensure your stay is the best. Very clean rooms with internet. Getting into the hotel arrival area on busy days is somewhat hectic, and may take some time waiting on the valet.

This clearly is an older property that has been recently renovated...it reminded me of a early '80s Eastern-bloc building that had a facelift. I stayed in the radius tower...rooms were smallish...like you'd find in Tokyo. I liked the automated check-in...so I didn't have to stand in lines. The rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. It was just OK. I wouldn't stay here for a vacation, but for business...well, it was just OK.

Rooms were comfortable enough, but the 2 room suite I stayed in looks like some of the rooms I stayed in back in the early 90's. Hotel is atrium style with cluster of elevators on one side, so if you are unlucky enough to be directly across from the elevators its a long walk over. Staff was friendly and curteous and renovated lounge was lively at night

Everything about this place is awful. It looks like it is straight out of 1982, but without the charm of being retro. The rooms are small, but the worst part is that the windows/balcony look directly onto large buildings that tower over this short stubby hotel. Aka - the room is incredibly dark and depressing.

The staff here are miserable. Probably because they get yelled at constantly, but they are miserable nonetheless. Not one of them smiled the whole time and when I asked for a king bed rather than two doubles you would have thought that I asked for sex because they seemed so insulted.

Parking is dismal. Thirty dollars per night for a forced valet system that you are not allowed to call ahead and it takes at least thirty minutes to retrieve your car. They also have the nerve to yell at you if your car arrives and you are not immediately ready to jump inside of it.

I hated this hotel the most I've hated any hotel in a really long time. I would never go back here and if I had to be in downtown Atlanta, I would stay at the marriott marquis. This place is the absolute pits.

Room Tip: Walk over to the marriot marquis

Good Morning,

We’re disappointed to read about your recent stay here at Hyatt Regency Atlanta. We make it a priority to service our guests with exceptional service and are usually very highly ranked for our staff’s friendliness and service. Front desk agents are trained to always remain professional under all circumstances and I would like to have the opportunity to talk with you in more detail about the nature of your interaction. Our rooms vary in size and all offer a unique view of the city. While the majority of our rooms provide excellent views of downtown, we don’t have control over which building may be near. Many guests find value in our prime Peachtree street location and like that you can see views of Centennial Olympic park, the 191 Club, SunTrust’s headquarters, Midtown’s famous Bank of America Building, etc. As far as parking prices, we are in line with all downtown hotels and parking in any major city is a commodity. For a less expensive rate, we recommend parking garages adjacent to the hotel. The completion of our newly designed product will be in December 2011. I have sent you a private message with my contact information so I can further investigate this matter. Please reach out to me at your earliest convenience. We hope that you will reconsider your stay in Atlanta!

Best,
Richard Walter, Director of Rooms

We stayed here for a business/family trip. The hotel is in downtown Atlanta with easy access to all the family attractions in the city. The parking is valet only and it is expensive. The rooms are very nice (we got a renovated one) and the elevators are fast, but since there are only a few, it takes forever waiting for it to arrive. Make sure to take pictures on the lobby and ride the scenic elevator all the way to the top !

I had a wonderful stay at this luxury hotel. The rooms are spacious, and nice, and included an accessible balcony. I also liked the chair and ottoman for guests to sit on (instead of your bed). This hotel had all the amenities most hotels have, but I was most impressed with the Aqua Fresh toothpaste included with the shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. The TV is large, with your standard CBS, ABC, NBC, HBO and FOX. There were way too many sports channels (at least 5 ESPN's) but I guess that caters to the mostly male business travelers. The location is right in the heart of downtown Atlanta. I took the MARTA train right to Peachtree Center, and the hotel is one block away. Nearby restaurants include Corner Bakery, Starbucks, Hard Rock Cafe, and I highly recommend The Juke Joint! There are also many eateries at Peachtree Mall which is right near the MARTA station. Nearby attractions also include Centennial Olympic Park, and CNN! The only drawback was that there was construction going on, but the hotel made sure we knew that ahead of time.

Good Morning,
We would like to first thank you for your detailed post and rave review! We do our best to focus on the details at Hyatt Regency Atlanta and love that you took note of our Aqua fresh toothpaste. It is great to hear that we helped improve your stay here in Atlanta. No matter the weather conditions, the MARTA train station (which runs directly to the International Airport) that stops at Peachtree Center is connected directly to our hotel by a covered, skyway bridge – so if inclement weather occurs, you’ll never feel the impact. We are currently undergoing renovation and scheduled to be complete in December 2011. Hyatt’s Corporate design team worked with our property to ensure we put every effort into making the stay more comfortable to all of our guests (hence the desk and guestroom chair). We will be sure to share your review with the entire hotel team. We look forward to you staying with us again.

Best,
Richard Walter, Director of Rooms
