Very pleased with my stay at The Highland Inn in Atlanta. Clean, spacious room, conveniently located near several restaurants and shopping centers. Friendly and attentive staff. Loved the cat! I highly recommend this hotel.

I love The Highland Inn! It's so charming, and makes the perfect place to see Atlanta the way the locals see it. It puts you within walking distance of several different neighborhoods with nightlife and dining options. They have their own parking lot, which makes your life so much easier. I tell anyone visiting Atlanta to check out The Highland Inn.

A great location for the Virginia Highlands area. Near some charming restaurants/ bars. Hotel itself is charming.
Beds are wonderfully comfortable. A resident cat roams the halls. Wi-Fi strong. The continental breakfast is really nothing special but it will do if on a budget or in a hurry.

My room was tiny. We're talking Tokyo hostel here. Maybe they have other size rooms, but it would be almost impossible for two people to have comfortably occupied mine at the same time. The building is old. The stairwell leans. The hallways are narrow, and there's little noise dampening. There are also some weekly & monthly tenants living there. It has the look and feel of an early 1900s boarding house. However, it had its saving graces. The room, bath, and linens were sparkling clean. The window can be opened. The wifi was strong, and the AC/heat unit worked like a new one.

It's near the Little Five Points area of Atlanta, center of the city's psychedelic and hippie culture. When I pulled into my parking spot, a twenty-something junkie was kneeling on the ground and leaning against the building. I almost hit the guy. He was completely wasted. Still, the location is safe enough. It's not a violent crime area. It's an artist's enclave with the drug problems that entails.

It's an excellent value for a streetwise budget traveler.

As you walk into the front door you are immediately taken back to a time before you were born. At least, if you were born after 1927. That is right, this one is still standing, still functioning, and still serving the public as it reaches 90. Your room key can be found in the appropriate cubbyhole, and when you travel down one of the long hallways and reach your room, well ... you are in 1927 with an internet connection! Well maintained and adequate you will enjoy this step into the past.
