I booked this room by bidding $65 a night on Priceline for a 2.5 star hotel in Midtown Atlanta. I was really impressed with how friendly and helpful the door and front desk staff were when we arrived and throughout the stay; so huge kudos to them. Once I arrived to the room I was shocked on how huge this room/suite was. Granted my last few trips have been to NYC and Europe but without comparison this was a big room...bigger than my Washington D.C. apartment. Large living area, bedroom area, separate tub and shower, mini bar with fridge, two televisions and a balcony with a Buckhead view. I think I did cartwheels in the room just because I had the space to do so. The room was very clean and the housekeeper that I encountered the next day was nice and she spoke great English (this is rare these days). However, I had two issues with the hotel. The decor which wasn't a huge deal but the hotel felt very traditional and maybe appealed to an older crowd like most Marriott’s. Marriott overall could use some revamping in my opinion, a little more modern and simplistic style with all the perks travelers desire in one price. The one major issue for me was the Wi-Fi charge of $14.95 a night, that is way overpriced and again perks like free Wi-Fi will appeal to a wider demographics. I recommend this hotel to other travelers but Marriott really needs to do away with the Wi-Fi charge.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony.

This was our first stay at this or any Marriott Suites. We were very impressed. First, the parking is very secure and located under the hotel with gate access. We had trouble with the card to open the gate and the valet was there within two min to evaluate the problem. The rooms are very comfortable with a separate sitting area and bar from bedroom. The windows provide a great scenic view of downtown Atlanta. The room was very quiet; never heard a noise outside of the room. Breakfast in the lobby was outstanding with fresh fruit, omelets/eggs to order, and a variety of proteins. Service was attentive.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have a great view.

Reservations: very simple using Marriott's website.
Check-in: fast efficient and friendly.
Room: spacious, very clean, well furnished suite. Generally in very good condition. Two flat screen TVs. Large bathroom. So-so towels. Great bed linens and very comfortable bed. Very quiet room. Towels were a little thin and not as nice as other aspects of the furnishings.
Internet: pricey but very fast.
In-Room Dining: good food from room service but not outstanding. Service was fast and friendly. Price was high but not unreasonable.
Check-out: fast and friendly and efficient.
Location: excellent. Lots of restaurants nearby.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on higher floors.

Thank you for the great comments - we're glad you enjoyed you stay! Your feedback regarding the towels is duly noted and I'm pleased to share that we are upgrading the towels in all Marriott Hotels. We don't have a roll-out date for out property just yet but we are hopeful that we'll have the new product in place before the year is out. Come see us again soon!

Stayed here for one night and found the place clean, easy to get to, and the staff friendly. Marriott premier members get a complimentary breakfast in the morning and it was very tasty. No need to go into major details here. Just a fine experience and very nice place to be.

Booked a last-minute Priceline deal for a last minute trip to ATL. Was pleasantly surprised by the location and the well-maintained common areas. A friend and I were a little taken aback that the room only had a single King bed but apparently this is a caveat of the Suite setup and there was no other option. The hotel is adjacent to the popular Crescent St night-life district, a block or two from the High and a 10 minute walk from Piedmont Park. Absolutely perfect location. While their on-site fees for parking might be ridiculous, there are $4 all day parking lots (uncovered, pay at a kiosk) within a block of the hotel. I lucked up and got unmetered but perfectly legal (and free!) on street parking for our stay!

Room Tip: The handicapped room was spacious, on the corner and had a decent view for only being on the 5th floor.

Thanks for the great comment - we do have a few suites with 2 double beds but they tend to sell out very quickly!
