“Great staff and a great area....”
Reviewed June 20, 2007

I stayed here for 4 nights on a business trip. The staff were all very helpful/friendly and the pre-printed "driving direction" cards available at the front desk were incredibly handy (they must have a dozen or so for various attractions/destinations). The hotel is located right next to the interstate and although it is visible from a fair distance, I got lost more than once due to the meandering roads and highways that snake around the property. In fact, the company I was visiting (which was less than 2 miles away) produced enough "turn by turn" directions via google maps, that I knew this wasn't going to be easy. Of course, this not the fault of the hotel, just something to keep in mind if you're driving and do not know the area well.

The rooms were nice and the bed was very, very comfortable. I ordered room service more than a couple of times and it was speedy and good. There are quite a few restaurants, malls and movie theaters all within 5 mintues of the hotel. The AC in the room worked really well which was appreciated as it was near 100 degrees outside for at least couple of the days during my stay.

I would definately stay here again. Although it is not near downtown and the tourist spots that are apparently a "must see" for this city, it was in a very nice area of its own and away from the "gunshots" I heard about at the airport this morning while chatting with another business traveler who stayed at the Hilton downtown.

If you ever have the need or opportunity to stay in the Cobb County area of Atlanta land, do yourself a favor and stay at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest. It is absolutely perfect. Just returned from Atlanta and stayed there for a youth group conference. Even the banquet food is desirable as banquet food goes.
The hotel offers a free shuttle to nearby restaurants and stores without any hesitation to drop you off and return at your call to pick you back up. The breakfast buffet is fantastic! Not your meeny-eeny breakfast buffet. We're talking full scale hot items inclusive of customized omelettes as well as belgian waffles. The beds in the king rooms are just fantastic as they are the well renowned sleep number beds. Talk abouth wow! You will be spoiled. Oh, yeah, let me not forget the indoor heated pool. One word - Perfect. If you ever have the need to stay in Cobb County, do yourself a well deserved favor and stay at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest!

Nice hotel. Clean and recently renovated. The rooms are on the small size, but a very good deal at the $41 I paid through priceline.

Great hotel for the price I paid on Priceline. I would hesitate to pay full rate due to the smallness of the room and bathroom but, other than that, was perfectly happy. Hotel was very clean and the front desk staff pleasant. They accommodated my request for two beds without a problem. Coffee and tea in room.

  • Liked — Nice duvet bedding.
  • Disliked — Room and bathroom size.
  • Tips/Secrets — Try Priceline. I got the hotel for $44.00 a night. $57.00 with tax.

Relocated to area and stayed at the hotel which just completed a full renovation of sleeping rooms and all facilities. Restaurant has great food and all staff that I came in contact with was amazing, set the example of hospitality. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area. Great for business and vacationing travelers. My children enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool and the hotel is close to all the area malls and attractions.
Had such a great time am booking a large company meeting in August of 2007.

We stayed at this property on for 2 nights, 2/17/06 and 2/18/06. We checked out at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday 2/19/06. The hotel itself was fairly clean. The restaurant left much to be desired in menu variety and pricing.

The stay itself was for the most part uneventful until I received my bill. I noticed there were two local calls made on my room phone during the day , apparently when I wasn't at the hotel. While checking out, I pointed these out to the front desk attendant and explained that the calls must have been made by a room maid or other personnel with a key to my room. She told me that the hotel staff does not steal. (How would she know for 100% certain that there are members of the cleaning crew that are completely honest)? We specifically asked to see the call detail as to what numbers and the times the calls were made. She would not show us the information because there were too many people waiting to check out.

Her attitude was rude and certainly not welcomed. She did take the calls off the room, but her attitude made me feel like a criminal. While I don't care about the $2.00 for the calls, it's the principle that matters (charging for a service I did not use).

Another party travelling with us, bought the 24 hour internet service for $9.95 per day. It was understood that you had to purchase this service each day or buy the business internet package for unlimited use during the stay. When the party received their bill, there were two charges (instead of one) for $9.95. These charges were removed as well.

It makes one wonder how many times charges are included on customer's bills without them questioning it. How much money is made from unused services?

As far as rooms go, nothing special. Average size with small bathrooms.

I am both a Marriott Rewards and Hilton Honors customer that has traveled extensively on business. For my money, I would choose most Hilton properties over Marriott. The staff seems better trained and more customer service driven.

Some of the positives about this location:
- newly renovated rooms and public spaces; could still smell the freshly-installed carpeting in the halls
- subtle decor in the rooms; maple tones and newer furnishings
- clean

Some of the negatives about this location:
- although renovated, the rooms are still on the small side. Bathrooms are incredibly small (although nicely done).
- slow bath drain in my room. A call to maintenance improved the situation but water would still back up during a shower.
- limited food and food quality. The menu at the hotel restaurant/sports bar is very limited. If you are hungry enough, you'll eat anything. However, if you are without a car or the ability to get out of the hotel to eat, you'll be disappointed.
- room service was hit and miss. The food was the same as what you'd get in the restaurants. Although the service was quick, it was not correct.

To the staff's credit, they do try to make your stay comfortable. However, the hotel itself is nothing special. I would personally not stay there again...it wasn't a horrible experience but I think I could do better at another property.
