Generally, I’m not one to write reviews on hotels, but the Ellis defiantly deserves one. We spent one night at the boutique style hotel last weekend and we’re completely impressed by the attention to detail. The hotel boosts a trendy decor with a 1st class staff. Would recommend to both business and leisure travelers.

We stayed at the Ellis for four nights while attending a business conference. The woman who checked us in was friendly and informative. When we called down a few minutes later to ask for a room on a higher floor she accommodated us with the same demeanor. The decor is beautiful, the beds very comfortable and the bathroom roomy. Everyone on the staff that we encountered could not have been more attentive. Special kudos to Jonathan, the doorman. He was especially helpful. We had breakfast in the dining room each morning. Words can't describe the quality of the food. Everything is locally grown and extremely fresh. The staff took the time to remember our likes and dislikes from the day before. Just a nice, friendly touch not found in many hotels. I should mention that we used to travel extensively for business so have a great deal of experience with hotels and I have to say that this was probably the best experience we've ever had in a hotel. That includes the "luxury" hotels. The location is great. Near everything. All in all a great experience.

We enjoyed our stay at the Ellis in Atlanta, GA. The accommodations were outstanding and the staff went about the call of duty to make our stay more than we could have hoped for. When my husband ask one of the bellstaff for directions to a nearby business they not only told him where it was but they also walked him there. Wow! That is service!

The hotel was lovely! The staff's pleasant demeanor and eagerness to please made us feel at home. The complimentary wine tasting was another added plus! Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, we laid down on their world-class pillow top bed! Whew! We had a lovely romantic evening followed by a day of NFL football watching. The hotel was located conveniently to everything!

I'm not having the same customer service experiece as the other travelers. Here's mine: I checked in at midnight, worked until 2a on a very slow internet connection; it was almost unuseably slow. The phone in my room wasn't working, so I called the desk from my cell phone. After more than 20 rings, they picked up and arranged a manual wakeup at 7a. (They also said they'd send engineering to look at my phone the next day). At 6:30a the girl at the front desk decided to TEST THE PHONE! She said she was aware of my wakeup time, and from talking to her she was clearly not engineering. So your guess is as good as mine.

I'm a very regular business traveler for the past 20 years worldwide. From the other reviews this seems to be an isolated incident but the combination of poorly-working communications systems and front desk amateurity caused problems for me as a business traveler.

We totally apologize for these lapses in service to you. There have been some issues with the internet provider all week which we have been working on resolving. As for the phone and the apparent poor communication between Engineering and the Front Desk, you are right – seems pretty strange. We will address appropriately and assure you that we take your comments seriously. Everything you have mentioned will be addressed.

This is my sixth time to stay at The Ellis for business. I used to stay at the Ritz, across the street. The Ellis is a GREAT boutique hotel, super staff, and rooms on par with any "W". Easy acces to your room with the small intimate lobby, and the rooms, although not huge, are a perfect size and very well-appointed! The staff will go out of their way to assist you!

We were convinced by earlier reviews to stay at the Ellis for 3 nights. The reviews were right, what an outstanding hotel. It is beautifully decorated, comfortable. adn very centrally located to MARTA, restaurants, and attractions. The hotel staff was extraordinarily helpful and professional and courteous. They gave us a lot of personal help and attention. An amazing value and wonderful venue for a long weekend. We very highly recommend the Ellis Hotel.
