We like to stop in for a glass and some excellent cured meats and tasty cheeses before going to Rathbuns. Very nice choice after dinner too.

The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. A great place for one last drink and a snack. Next to Rathbuns which is incredible IMO and often Krog is second destination. Outside seeting is pleasant and has an interesting urban feel.

My wife and I were headed to the Carter Center and were short on time so we stopped by Kevin Rathbun's Krog Bar. We have eaten at both Rathbun's and Rathbun's steak (both are excellent) but had never been in the Krog Bar. The setting is sleek and intimate, the service was attentive but not obtrusive and the menu was perfect for a light meal. It is a tapas menu and we shared three small plates and a selection of meats and cheeses. The duck breast was delicious, the honey and brie flatbread was interesting, the beef carpaccio was very tasty and the antipasto was top quality. They also had a good wine selection and a nice little outdoor seating area. We were in and out and on to hear President Carter speak in less than an hour. If you are not in a hurry and want a more complete dinner I'd say start at Krog and then walk over to the real restaurant, but this worked out great for us that night.

The wine list offers many options. There are limited spirits to choose from so if that's your thing, you might be disappointed. Maybe a half dozen or so beers on the menu.
It is expensive - i.e. $12 for a vodka&soda (just one vodka to select from).
I saw some other reviews knock the Krog service and don't totally agree. We had a fair experience with our server. I wouldn't say she was the best ever, more like adequet - but I don't have anything negative to say. We ordered drinks and got our drinks.
Nice place for a glass of wine or two - but if you go for the evening it could be costly.
